He's not dunskin. Cream plus Dun would make a much lighter colored coat. He is gray. He will continue to gray out as he ages. The lighter tail and the hyper pigmentation in his legs tel the story.

Water heaters only bust open when your far away from home. It's part of Murphy's law or closely related. Place a water heater pan under the water heater for next time and run the a drain line outside. It's not always easy, depends on where the water heater is sitting and where you want the drain from the pan to exit. Wishing your family a Merry Christmas! (without any headaches)

Flooded basements are no fun…been there done that…sorry that happened to you. How lucky for you that you got that beautiful Christmas gift German ginger bread is the best. German chocolate is even better, love when my German relatives send me chocolate. You did a good job pronouncing his name. Tree looks beautiful, good job kids. Recently found out my granddaughter goes to college with a young man whose parents have a horse sanctuary here in Wisconsin. There is also a horse rescue about 10 miles from where we live.

Alan and Vicki I've been following your channel for a bit now. I'm going back to watch the older ones as I'm 'caught up' on the last month or so. I'm enjoying every one of your videos. Your family is lovely, your farm is beautiful and the horses are just beautiful. It's lovely that they have such a great opportunity with you to learn, explore and become the gentle creatures that I believe horses want to be. That horse you bought is stunning! Alan, I love how respectful you are to everyone you meet and your connection to the reservation(s). The native people truly are great stewards of the land and they really do have a beautiful culture. It was so nice to meet Jamie, Brian and Tyrell. Such nice guys. By the way, your entire family is the same, I only mention Alan specifically because we see him buying the horse and donkey in this video. I'm so very sorry about the mess from the flood in your basement. That's awful! I had a sewer main back up into my basement a few months back. That was gross and horrible and awful. On top of it all, I'm disabled and a single parent (my husband left in 2001 when our daughter was 1yo) so I was not able to do much to clean up. I wound up hiring someone which, while it wasn't cheap, I could rest assured that it was done right, sanitized, etc. Like you say, it's not the end of the world. It's a royal pain in the behind, but not the end. We had a fire in 2006 in the little condo I bought for my daughter and I (pre-spine/spinal cord injury) and lost everything. When I think of how rotten a situation is, I often think back to that time and how we made it thru that. Heather🇨🇦

That happened to me in late September, but my restoration company came packed everything. Put the furniture etc in the garage. Then sealed everything before demolishing my ceilings in my daughters room, closet, hallway and part of the living room . For five days there were dehumidifiers and fans to dry up all my rooms. It was extremely loud. Then the contractors came. Oh my, it was horrible. Today, I'm still putting my home together. Best Wishes! Beautiful Tree!

I hate when water heaters give up the ghost!! We're on #3 since building this home in 1995. But hey---with the way supply chains are being affected, maybe it's a God Blessing because you got a new one while they are still available! At least, that's what I've been telling myself regarding all the car repairs we've had to do recently, lol! We had to wait 3 months for a new transmission for my husband's vehicle to be shipped all the way from Korea. Ya never know.

Our water heater recently failed. Fortunately, the builder had set it into a pan that had plumbing through the wall and out the front of the house. Only a small amount went over the pan. The new horse, Miller, and donkey, Jack, are nice additions to your farm. Best wishes! 🌸

Hi my farm friends, what an awful surprise. One year ago Christmas morning.. My family and I woke up to failed water heater , squishy carpet and all our gifts and ornaments ruined. Fortunately our insurance covered all the damage ,except the new water heater! We had to stay in a hotel for a month while everything was dried out and replaced. The furniture we salvaged was put in storage. So movers storage units etc. Not fun! Sorry this happened to you. Yes it could be worse. I do believe something good comes of everything. I few weeks ago I peeked down our old farmhouse basements to see about 12” of water - sump pump not working well. Repositioned the pump & it drained, only to do it again 2 more times! 3rd time the pump actually died & my hubby replaced it. The basement is a old stone foundation & not finished, some things ruined, but it could have been worse. But it happened right after having to put a new roof on the house & a huge 24”+ diameter 30 foot long sugar maple branch crashed thru the roof of our barn & we had to get vinyl tarp on that - there’s about 300+ bales of hay in the loft. Fortunately the horses were not hurt. It’s been a challenging time, but I keep telling myself that God won’t give me more than I can handle. He must think I’m pretty strong - 18 hospitalizations & 15 surgeries in the past 10 yrs has me whipped. Praying next year will be better. God bless you all & hope you have a Merry Christmas!

I had the same a few years ago when the house above me had a burst water tank and it took months to dry out and get back to normal, the main thing with me and like yourselves is no one was hurt and material things can be replaced . A flooded basement is when you need a step ladder to get out of the water, not climb it to find it. It saddens me that you had to come home and find a mess like that. A few years ago a neighbor's basement flooded from a busted water heater and water flowed out the front door and froze as it ran down through the front yard. There was 9' of water in that house.

WOW...I collect those boxes, $$$ empty. I always wondered what the contents looked like! ---(I'd been on vacation one year, when we lived in Albuquerque, and our water heater broke. Neighbors had a key & hauled out onto the drive way as much as they could, we had to cut our trip short by 2 days. Insurance covered the damage, but still...)
