So I'm just "finishing" up a cabinet system that I built for the back of my 4Runner, and the first thing I did was take a bunch of the cabinet screws I intended to use, sink them into a panel of cardboard, and hit them with some dupli-color to body-match the screws to the truck. Now that my cabinet is painted black, I sunk the nice Barcelona Red screws into the cabinet and it looks so dope. Your philosophy on subtle details is what allowed me to be comfortable with that level of my O.C.D. Thank you!

I ve done the exact same thing with my 92 c1500. Restored it in 2011 and bought a parts truck to get it all done, installed a brand new cratengine and overhauled transmission in the summer of 2018 and then three months later it got totaled in an accident. I bought another project c1500 ( no engine , no interior, no front clip, no powertrain) to restore and started complete frame off restoration about a year ago. I am seeing light at the end of the tunnel, but yeah, the project cost will probably be way more then what the truck will ever be worth, but I guess that's normal when you are dedicated to the hobby 🤣

I found your channel because of this vehicle. I am currently working on my 250,000 mile '97 F-150 4x4 that I picked for $2,200. Doing the brakes right now. I couldn't imagine having to manipulate a camera every 10 minutes doing that. Took me 40 minutes to do all the front brakes, drain the master and bench bleed the replacement. If I had to video it, I would probably still be trying to get the rotors off.

You can use that heat gun to restore the black plastic. The high heat itself will turn it back to black in seconds. If you're worried about fudging the paint around the trim, you can use a layer of painter's tape under aluminum duct tape around it for security.

Innuendo quota achieved in this video!!!!😄👍 P.S. It's way easier to push a vehicle by its tires than the bumpers or body. The leverage is multiplied about 5 times(depending on the height of the tires)by pushing the top of the tire opposed to pushing somewhere on the body. I don't really know why and I don't remember when I found out, but it works.

Great restoration series. I just finished a new frame replacement and suspension lift upgrade on my wifes 95 Jeep Wrangler. Lot's of fun. When using RTV with gaskets, put the RTV on the replacment part to adhere the gasket. When replacing a failed part the gasket material will come off with the part, making clean up of the mating surface easier.
