Only downside was the file sizes (being uncompressed raw) were huge. 17mins on a 250gb ssd. I know ssd's have gone cheaper now but they're still huge files. The Komodo does not have 16 stops DR. It has 12.5 stops at SNR=2. Unless you are going by the marketing department. But then you'd also have to believe FX3 has 15 stops lol. Check out CineD tests to confirm.

100%. Thats why the 2.5k is superior. Specially if you can find the mft model. With a Speedbooster you get around super 35 field of view, one whole stop more light, and more dynamic range.

It’s OK if you have a limited budget and can work within its limitations. I believe this sensor suffered from the “black sun” issue and fixed pattern noise. Also terrible in low light. Trust me, it’s no Komodo 6K killer lol. I mean seriously LOL. But that said, it’s more about the talent behind the camera, than the camera. Honestly, take a look at the below footage and with a straight face spout off that the discontinued BMDPC4K is a Red Komodo 6K “Killer”. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGWYoniNrduDpqM
