Keep a close eye on setting up the rear sag. Remember the main reason for the frame is for anti-sqwat, the shock tower is separated from the backbone to separate the shock from transmitting force to the steering head. The anti-sqwat will also let you accelerate out of turns without lifting the front end keeping it tracking out of turns. Good luck this year and have fun!

I love hearing your opinions as I am about 6'2 also. I have thought of getting an Austrian bike for my next bike so I love all the info you provide. Do you think you will ever go back to a winged seat now that they have color? I noticed you stayed with just the phantom foam and 30 mm taller foam. I run the seat on my yamaha and love it as it helps since the yamaha has the worst peg to seat height ratio.

I have the new bike and flat landed from like 15-20ft up and know I bottomed both front and rear suspension no marks on the rear fender. I landed so hard I got fluid on the elbow from hanging on to it. I don’t think the tire rubs the fender when yo bottom the suspension.

Jeff.. Did you ever run an Akrapovic Exhaust on your machines? Looking for some comparison between the AKP and the Yosh on the Austrian machines.

I ran the akro all last season. I’d say akro and Yoshi are the 2 best systems available for the Austrian bikes for sure. The akro was a little bit quiet and almost sounded stock, whereas the Yosh definitely has a louder bark to it. Performance is great with both systems.

Riding question: when turning do you exaggerate the outside elbow to stay up or try to keep both on the same level?

I was kind of noticing that elbow dropping also , but he said that this was the first ride in awhile. Watching Tampa super cross HD Cornering speed was crazy I’ll have to take some lessons from that replay on the 250

I’m no pro or even a present day rider but every technique vid I have watched within the past couple years about corner is elbows up or feet on the pegs when it comes to elbows you wanna hold the grips at an angle instead of fully grasping it with your hand this opens up your chest and allows your elbows to stay up this is mostly important on the inside elbow for cornering cause if you’re inside elbow is down now your shoulder follows then your head causing you’re exits to not only look funny but also don’t allow you to drive straight forward out of a turn with jwalk being a lanky guy it’s hard to keep them up but I reckon this is something he’ll touch base on this season and work into his technique to be more proficient if you wanna have better detail definitely watch AJ Catanzaro’s vids

997 is KX/CR bend, Tomacs using this and similar to Wyndham bend 998's. Reed/Wyndham (998) bend was used by Villopoto and Stewart and good for taller riders. The actual Villo/Stewart (996) bar is a bit more neutral with slightly less raise and sweep. Used them all 👌

Please don't take this the wrong way, you're faster than 99.9% of riders. Im a former privateer myself, early 2000s...Ive noticed a few times your elbows looked dropped at tad: not sure if it's your concentration on other posture and positioning, riser height or even bar width. Might stabilize the front a lot more and allow you to drop the back further?

Thanks for the feedback. This is my first ride in a month and a half, so my shoulder muscles still aren’t back into the groove yet. Typically after a few rides my form is much better

@Jeff Walker lol. Generally all the connective tissue and strength in the shoulders comes right as the knees/hips/groin wear out...viscous cycle. Just some constructive criticism, you've got really good technique and we are all watching ya! Like to see a couple top 20s this year, more than capable
