I remember the other review you do on this guitar. You really liked it! Even with the truss rod adjustment, I still hear a tad of buzzing. Maybe the nut and/or saddle also needs a slight adjustment? Every guitar will need an occasional adjustment -- that's totally normal, especially as the weather is starting to get colder and drier now in many areas. Regardless, it seems like a great guitar! Btw, every stringed instrument should at least come with a gigbag, but a hardcase should be made available to purchase at a deep discount at the time of purchase . . . and then after that, if someone needs a replacement hardcase, then I can understand charging full price. I never understand how some low to mid-end guitars come with hard cases or high quality gig bags (ie: SE, some Epiphones, some Squires and low end Fenders, Donner, EART, etc.) . . . and others don't. Some brands even toss in multi tools, strap, a decent extra set of strings and some picks (it's great to partner with brands making those because it's great advertising for those brands), etc. That tells me it's totally within the realm of brands still making a healthy profit when some guitars models have some incidentals and necessities tossed in for free. Even within the same brand, I'm always baffled when you have several guitars at the same price point, and only some of those models have cases and such. A consumer is more likely to become a repeat customer when a guitar is great . . . and it's clear the company cares enough to make sure the person has all the basics at the time of purchase. I hope brands seeing my comment will take note. ☺️

My Oliver Cedar is amazing, my Ava all solid mahogany is fantastic, and my Echo 12 live ,like the others stays in tune. All have great scale and playability. I am NOT an influencer, I am nobody, I could not ask for a better trio. I am a recently retired symphony musician, and my standards for intonation are extremely high. These instruments are terrific. Get one, clip on a Snark, see for yourself. You won't send it back, even though you could.

I really like Orangewood guitars. I “relearned” my chords a few years ago on a Morgan Mahogany Live. Loved the easy playability. After a couple of days I couldn’t stand the Ernie Ball strings they put on them. I put on some D’Addario strings and it made a huge change in the sound. #stringsmatter

Bought an Oliver Jr a few years back and sold it a couple of years ago. The buyer, a beginner guitarist travelling nurse who was in town and in her free time wanted a guitar to practice, since she had not brought hers along, texted me two days later to tell me how much she loved her Oliver Jr🙂 I've bought and sold a few guitars in the last number years, and never had gotten a shout out like that before.

Bought a "Last year's model" of the "Oliver Live" during their recent "Almost Perfect" sale for $231.50 including one of their "accessory Kits". I'm pleased with it. No flaws other than it plays a little hard but that is me being out of practice. Going to try Martin extra light strings so I can get my fingers broke in again. But it does punch above its price class. It is just a little better than the D'Angelico Premier Tammany (Solid Airondack Spruce with layered mahogany back and sides) I bought earlier this year which cost $130 more. Yes. Guitars make us better if were're willing to listen to what they have to tell us... and share them with others...

The rubberized tuning heads were done by Takamine for awhile. They do feel nice, but in my experience, the rubber starts to breakdown and gets really tactile and sticky after awhile. Maybe the Orangewood are better, and tuning keys aren't difficult or expensive to replace.

The oliver is s gret starter or cozy couch guitar. When you consider it's $225 and looks great, comes set up well, and is easy to play it's a great choice. But when you say it's the best guitar under $500 that's maybe a bit of stretch.

The Oliver is a second guitar or a student guitar or for somebody who really wants the deep mahogany sound and not spend too much, around $250 total. The Ava is an all solid high quality guitar any player would appreciate and about $700, well over double. The Ava is an OM like the Oliver and you can get it with a Sitka top or all mahogany like the Oliver. If you can handle the bigger dreadnoughts, there are MANY high quality all solid dreadnoughts around, all imitating the Martin D-18, for around $650 or even less - Orangewood, Recording King, Eastman, Epiphone, Alvarez, even Luna.
