Gewehr 98 at #2? Seriously?? It’s the best sniper rifle, but it is not by any means better as a marksman rifle than the Gewehr 95 which is just so well-suited for close/medium range gunfights

Of course the stupid M1911 is winning again even though it has one of the slowest time to kills across the board. The Gasser gets completely ignored despite the fact it has the longest 2 shot kill range out of any revolver all while even in full auto

Memes aside, I have to admit that when grinding out the sidearm 100 kill dogtags, as much as I loved many of them, the Kolibri was by far the most fun. honourable mentions to the P08, Gasser, Howdah, Autorevolver, Modello 1915 and the Obrez.

Gewehr 98 all the way. No sweet spot needed, just all headshots. That bullet velocity does the trick. I even no scope with that baby when people get the jump on me.

revive syringe is a good competition. The upcoming pigeon is also very useful(if added to main game). Flare gun, crossbow launcher are also fair bet. Health packs are useful, and may win, but the rest are also fair bet. I mainly play as a medic and I can't tell you how many times I have been spotted by a flare gun or killed by a crossbow launcher

Westie you should also do a series similar like this but with the bf1 maps after the launch of the apocalypse dlc. Like the top 5 or 3 infantry maps or vehicle based maps, also a top 5 or 3 operations .

Westie, I think you should put revolvers(maybe lump in the obrez here too) in a different category than the semiautos. They have wildly different uses and attract different player types. Most people don't bother learning how to use the revolvers whereas the semiautos can be picked up by anyone and used to effectiveness.

I personally love the Ross MKIII Marksman. It’s bullet velocity is standard but great, the straight pull bolt makes it faster to fire without scoping out, the sweet spot is favorable, and it’s just the best Marksman rifle in the game for me.

I dont like marksman and sniper variants. Only use them when I want to be on the ground shooting enemies at 300 meters. For close and medium ranges, you can acquire targets much faster with open sights.

The medic auto-revolver is pretty good because its the fastest reloading revolver, it doesn't reload 1 bullet at ta time and it has heavy damage.

My favorite marksman rifle is the rose rifle. I just keep dropping krauts for days with the damn thing, its bolt is the smoothest in the game in my opinion, and I feel the bullet velocity makes it incredibly easy to drop a moving target

I think the top weapon choices reflect more general gameplay, when you get really skilled you choose weapons that have maybe a severe disadvantage but compliment your game style. I mention this as I look at the poll for the handguns. The 1911 is well rounded overall but not job specific. I'm a fan of the lower damage but high accuracy at close range quick spaz firing handguns. The Frommer stop, Taschenpistole. I like to handle my enemy at range with my primary weapons, and be able to blast off like a mad person with my close range handguns. You trade off higher damage for higher firing speed + accuracy at close range only. That fits my more specific play style, but again that's just me.

Since Lebel MOdel 1886 sniper its good for long maps for medium maps and for long too you can use SMLE MKII Marksman i made 3 kill in a row with a bullet with it .

Whose favorite "SMG" is M1917 Trench carbine? I wish next Battlefield to have pistol caliber carbines and stocked pistols as niche primary weapon category. I hope also that they expand tanker and airman roles to fill whole crew in gunner seats to be equipped with respective loadout for a vehicle class.

By pistols do you mean all pistols or are you separating revolvers and semiautomatic because my choice for revolvers is either bodeo or mosen negant and for semiautomatic it's the 1911 but that's from a real life bias. Also does the oberez count? Because tequnicaly it's a cut down rifle

Mars Automatic! I'm calling it. I think the Number three revolver and the M1911 will also be in the top three. It's stupidly predictable what everyone is using in this game even though everything is fun. I had an insane amount of fun unlocking the Codex for the Kolibri pistol! Shoot, I even considered getting a service star with it just because every time I terminated someone with that literal pee shooter, I bursted out laughing! The only reason I haven't gotten around to that task is because I wanna get all the elite codexes first... Man what a pain. But truly, the only gun I thought was unusable at a time was the M1903 Experimental, and they've buffed that to greatness now (albeit hidden greatness because none of the several BF1 KZbinrs I have, have dared mention it.... At all). Give some different weapons a try people. It's pretty gross to me that the SMLE was awarded that many votes. Yes, it's a good rifle, but no it's not worthy of that much attention. How many guns and variants are in this game? I have tried them all and like them all. Give them a chance.
