This is one of the best bad movies we've ever seen. Our mouths were agape for the entire runtime. Drunken Wings Hauser, devil voice William Smith, and the legend John de Hart round out one helluva time. This is a must watch. Do yourself a favor and buy a copy from Vinegar Syndrome. You won't be sorry.

So he was with his wife when she died. But she didn't die. But he thought she did. And someone other than him took her to the hospital. And no one told him she was in the hospital, even though he's her husband. So he went ahead and had a funeral for her without a body. And he didn't think to ask anyone where the body was. And when he finally found out that she was alive after all, his reaction was not unlike my reaction when I find my lost keys.

I heard that saying a few times in the early to mid-2000's in real life. I never heard it in a movie before or since this one. I can really imagine Jason Statham saying that line while putting a couple of 100$ bills in someone's left front pocket, before slowly double tapping the guy's chest on said pocket.

The bad guy in this movie is actually Conan's father in Conan The Barbarian. He gives an unforgettable and epic speech about Crom and the secret of steel. The actor's name was William Smith, a bodybuilder as well, who unfortunately passed away on July 5, 2021. This guy is a LEGEND, 75 years of acting in Hollywood, working with legends like Yul Brenner and Clint Eastwood (a dear friend of his). It's both sad and hard to believe that Conan's dad ended up doing cheap movies for a quick buck. The guy was a certified great actor and one of the very first bodybuilders in America.

Back in the late 80's, early 90's, living in Hollywood there was there was this guy who drove around Hollywood Blvd with a giant sculpture of his head on top of his car. One day we asked what that was about. He said he was an actor trying to get work. He gave us a VHS sample of his work. We watched it, it was terrible, and I swear it was this guy. Yeah, just tumbled to these guys recently, just made the same obvious parallel, cuz that shtick is genius. Check out "Everything You Know Is Wrong," from the Firesign Theatre, a short, word-for-word film adaptation of their epic, surrealistically satirical 1975 album release. See, in those days--so long before our current and ubiquitous U-tube/internet video share tech and infrastructure--music, comedy, informed debate and philosophical discourse and much, much more besides were all primarily aurally recorded and then released in 33 1/3 rpm vinyl and also various fudgy tape technologies, from my dad's 1950s hepcat jazz audiophile's reel-to-reel to my clunky 8-track tape recording device making ultimate mix tapes in the early 70s and the stoner hi-fi aesthetic of sleek cassette decks later on in that decade, it was all still primarily an audio experience...except that during during all of that time, there were also a great many people busily making all sorts of (mostly terrible) films. Hence the need for and the vacuum filled by the armchair critic. But, please, only of the comic variety. Kudos, lads!

As Christopher Lee once commented...An actors job is to act. Someone offers you a role, you take it. You never know when your next job is coming.. Massively paraphrasing that by the way, Not even certain if it was Lee, but it was an old school actor.

The lead character is the well-read, hilarious, tough guy, artist. Every low-rent action movie leading man in the 80s. I think they must have sent Wings home on the day they shot the wedding scene.
