@@Herr2Cents Yeah, "stories" are nice. As another guy posted on here, he would HOPE that the 40% strike rate (with the electronic interference) on bait was LESS on humans. Hope ain't gonna save you if you're in the water with a 40% strike-rate product, and you end up in that lower 40%.
@PoochieCollins

@WWZenaDo : they didn't explain the significance well enough: that an attack on humans is much less than the 94% on bait, so that small percent would be cut by even more with this repeller.

Sharks aren't bad creatures its just they have a hard time telling the difference between fish and humans. And some sharks quickly realize their mistake and leave the human alone a scar or a lost limb. Other sharks if their really hungry they just eat.

cool, but how often is a shark interested in taking a bite out of you, is going to approach you head on. Great whites in particular through 500 million years of evolution and natural instincts can blind side seals which are far more attuned to their surrounding in the water than we are. Don't ignorantly test a shark's nature in it's domain thinking you can just punch it.

When I was in Hawaii 13 years ago, I met a buisness man who had purchased the rights for a water-proof watch that repelled sharks. It did so by releasing a very faint electro shock. It didnt effect other wildlife but when a shark swam nearby it would jolt like the first shark did in this video when reacting to the device. It doesnt hurt the shark but more like startles them and blinds their electro-magnetic sense.

Not really, because the snout is pretty close to its large mouth and teeth. If you are forced to fight against one the best areas to attack its gills and the eyes

Minute 0:32, is that a white shark? For me it looks more like a Mako... EDIT: At minute 4:25 they confirm it's a Mako :)

The shark in the clip with the swimmer is not a Great White, it's a Mako. Close, but no cigar.

Sharks are older then the evolution of trees. So tragic to see such a successful species be endangered by humans

The animal kingdom needs to be respected more than the populace is willing to. And since we, too, are in the animal kingdom we are still very primitive in our responses to other animals.

It's hard to see why sharks would attack? To eat, perhaps? I could be wrong. (Sarcasm)

It's be way less than 40%. The odds of a GW shark coming close and actually biting you is probably a single digit percent, so this repeller would probably reduce that to almost none.

First? Awesome video! EDIT: Holy hell, I was first! :D This really is an awesome video. I wonder if it'd be possible to use a "Shark Shield" to actually allow Humans and Sharks to swim in the same general area, just humans are 'protected' within the confines of the 'shield.' This could allow more understanding and research of sharks first hand. The "shield" could also be used as a trapping method and that wouldn't be as good...
