New Top Gear is, I reckon, better than Grand Tour. Top Gear is still top gear just with different people and a bit of a stumble in the first season while they had random shit to make it different, now it’s got decent presenters, decent camaraderie and the BBC’s usual excellent films as featurettes. Grand Tour is trying too hard to be old Top Gear, but with more wacky shit that they’re wasting money on. No one gives a damn if they’re in a different city each time, the joke about stars dying is boring, the American is an arse (and the track is shit) and the producers are getting the challenges wrong, they should stick to the travel/challenge specials and the features and the back and forth between the three of them. I mean that feature where they repeated the special forces training course over and over again was utter shit and must’ve cost them so much money.
