@@flyde6521 Well, technically, Turing IS a new GPU, new architecture with new technologies, and it does outperform its predecessors in traditional performance, just not at the same generational leap as we got with Maxwell to Pascal. Their major gaffe is the pricing. Sad thing is, when you have no competition, you are free to charge basically whatever da fuq you want for it and people will either buy it or they won't. If Turing was launched at the same price as Pascal there'd be less complaining, but Nvidia put a premium on their Ray Tracing and hoped people would buy into it. You could say I did since I just received my Zotac 2060 in the mail a couple days ago, but the honest truth is there aren't any cards on the market right now that approach its price/performance ratio. I can't find new 1070ti's for less than 450 dollars excluding the used market and I don't buy used GPU's. Likewise for Vega. A decent non-blower V56 is still over 400 dollars. I could have gotten an RX580 or 590, but those won't last as long for me as the 2060 will. So, really, it was my only option that made any kind of sense. And honestly, I don't regret it. Coming from a rx280, it's a huge difference and I'm happy with it.

its simple. its because ray tracing will be replacing rasterization in the future as the new standard. its a good first initial step towards it and jay sees that, its alot of the consumers that think its a complete waste because they cannot really upgrade from pascal to the rtx cards due to the lack of performance increase and the HUGE increase in pricing. most of the consumers dont look at the long term affects, they just want their card for cheap and they want it now and dont care about innovation that will help us out in the future for better visuals. real time raytracing in games is just flat out great, i just wish the high end cards were more affordable. if they were cheaper maybe some indi devs would actually have a reason to start playing around with it as well, and i may finally be able to swap out my 970. hopefully amd does well here so i can finally upgrade. now to get called an nvidia fanboy for seeing the future of a technology that just so happened to be pushed out by team green.

It has nothing to do with what you can afford, only if you are strong willed enough to say no, I will not pay vastly inflated prices. Accept it now and be prepared for another price hike at next gen. Frankly as far as I can see, most reviewers were pretty upset with the pricing and low boost from previous gen, but did a turn a round singing the 20xx's praises, while paying lip service to the price. Being the best performer at that price point is not the point. 1070ti could be had for £360 last week, now the lowest is £429. I have almost always bought nvidia going back to geforce 256. But they are apple 2.0 now. They would have sold way more cards if they stuck to a 5 to 10% price rise and be better off for it. Instead they try to con us into paying for their fuck ups.

The RTX2060 is 50% more expensive than the GTX1060 and provides around 50% more performance wheres the generation leap? All they are doing is upping the price bracket so mid range is now lower high end. I really don't understand the press media you guys are all for it! This is not progress, this is manipulation!!!

I am from Europe (CZ) and I can buy used GTX 1080 for about 65 USD less than is starting price for RTX 2060 from official Nvidia site (I do not counting new GTX 1080 in because stores have been holding prices like it is 2016 and now new GTX 1080 are out of stock so you cannot buy them anyway). I understand that RTX 2060 has new technology in it, but in my opinion, it cannot justify 40% price increase between GTX 1060 and RTX 2060! At least in my region I would recommend anyone to buy used GTX 1080 instead of RTX 2060. You will get used card, but with more power and what's more you will save about 65 USD. They all get a "review guide" from Nvidia for every release. Some KZbinrs stick to it more than others.

I'm really disappointed Jay, you just followed the Nvidia press-guide (read: Propaganda) point by point, not questioning the increasing mid-range prices and lowering of performance. A couple of months ago everyone of you techguys got real confused at the release of 1070Ti, and now you act like it's a perfectly valid card to benchmark against? Can't wait for some cheapo competition to put the screws on nvidia soon, these prices are insane.
