Your side looking the goods there Jake! It’s not an easy task to pick our best side from a full list of healthy players. Ross has a history of playing our top pick rookie from round 1. He did it with Phillapou and again with Wilson. I think if Travaglia stays healthy and has a big pre-season, Ross will be keen to play him round 1. Tauru unlikely as it will be a cautious approach with his back issues and he won’t even start running until possibly as late as mid Feb. I’d love to see Arie getting regular games in 2025. I see him as part of our future.

Sandringham VFL should be playing finals next year with all this depth. Obviously very early to be picking teams. But I think therell be more changes. This is the side they'd pick every week with no depth. Clark fights for his spot with Garcia. Caminiti and Sharman are fighting it out. Think butler also fights for his spot. Doesn't do enough when team is losing.

I like the idea of having King at CHF, takes the pressure off him to kick 5 per game, and gets him in the play more often. He can run, he needs to run. Both HB,Wing,HF are great. A bit of a worry at CHB, but Caminitti has surprised me so many times, I'm not game to knock him. He has energy, and committment. Actually he might be my favourite Saint in 2025. I like the idea of Sharman at FF. He can move, can mark, and can kick, so he has all the tricks. He is really a #2 or #3 forward, but until someone else is better, I think he is good at FF. We can play with Higgins, Garcia, Butler, Dow, Collard, and maybe even Jones as the small fast forwards, just depends who is in form. I like the team, it has space for a new guys, and providing we kick more accurately that in 2024, we should win more than we lose.

Sharman genuinely walks into the forward line. Our best forward in the second half of the year. Comfortably ahead of both Owens and Caminiti. Arie not close to being ready to hold down a key position as well.

Windy has to step up this year. I’d play Garcia and him in impact roles off the bench to add to the grunt/speed mix through the middle.

Mid: hill, Steele, Wilson, Marshall, macrae , Phillipou Foward: king, Owens, Higgins, Sharman, caminiti, Henry. Inter: windy, Garcia, travaglia, Clark. Sub: Byrnes. Snubs: wood (might get caught up by the stacked wingers we got now), butler (prefer Garcia/higgins), Cordy/ Howard (bit of same old, list needs to move forward), jones (rate him but Byrnes a bit greener), dow/carrol (unsure). VFL team gonna be stacked 😂 up the sainters.

We won’t play Dougal and Cordy in the same team - I don’t think we did this year? that would be a big f u to the future. Definitely want Arie in there.. our experienced backs need someone to teach. I’m not sure Sharman and Caminiti play in the same team. And I like Sharman so.. There are some players as well that I just don’t think are mids. I like Sinclair off HB. I like Phillipou at HF. He runs like crazy anyway and can take a mark. Big Nick Riewoldt vibes about him - striving for excellence. I really like Stocker and Byrnes but they probably compete for a spot? Butler pretty inconsistent. Exciting to have so many options 😄

Pretty close to mine Jakey we will have injuries so they will all get a run.. id have Cordy CB and Stocks BP and will depend on match ups whether Doogs gets in every week.. Also id have Windy starting as Rover, Steelo RR and McCrae as Centre. I'd have Sharmo CF King Deep FF and Hammer HF also.. Maybe a C next to Wilkys name you forgot captain..

I think Barrat is pretty good as our third tall back. Arie will develop but he's really a ball user, lacking defensively rn. Cordy is a depth player imo. McLennan is undersized. For the midfield I would have Pou start forward and rotate, as he's a clearance mid like Macrae to me and we need pace. Garcia or Henry starting at centre bounce. Could debut someone with the sub or have Jones or Byrnes or Garcia as a sub.

Actually I would definitely swap Pou and Clark, the game is in Adelaide against a SA club, and he is absolutely commanding a spot from the reports at trainings. Garcia is the sub, Travaglia starts on the front bench.

@DarylSice thanks Daryl! I based this selection on players that I think will be fully fit for round 1, otherwise Henry comes in for Carroll or Butler. Clark and Garcia are more versatile than Jones and Dow, but those guys are depth anyway. I also rate Carroll over both of them.

Gee I'm almost in agreement, the only queries I have are Byrnes, Clark and Caminiti. I prefer Shoenmaker for Caminiti, Stocker for Byrnes and chuck in a 2024 draftee for Clark! And King playing 2nd ruck, it's the safest place on the ground!

I like what you've done and this is reasonable for Round 1. But we have to fast track a few guys as quickly as possible: Sinclair and Steele aren't getting any younger. Hugo Garcia needs to play. I'd swap out Webster and start him in back pocket, rotating through the mid. We also need to try Shoenmaker as the Battle replacement, and Travaglia needs to play, too. Could Wood become the 3rd tall D and start Travaglia on a wing? I'm actually preferring a mix that has Dan Butler as the super sub. Stocker, Byrnes I find difficult to get in. Paddy Dow is not good enough at this level. I'm looking for a 3-pronged attack that includes Caminiti or Caminiti plays in defense, replacing Howard. Quickly, we need to move on from Howard, and see if we got the Barrat pick right (as opposed to Van Es). Then what are we gonna do with Keeler?

Both first round draft picks need to be in the team. Butler, Howard, cordy, jones all need to be back ups. Atleast 3 of the 5-6 draft picks need to gel with the team and be given a chance
