Every parent has a favorite child, they won’t admit it but they all do. It’s usually the ones like Randall that stay close when they can and should leave. The ones who are dependable from when they’re younger into adulthood. She has a special relationship with all of her children but Kevin went away to nyc to be a star and Kate hated her mother or at least resented her for a very long time. Randall stayed no matter what and honestly she hurt him the most not letting him know his father which in turn could’ve led to him knowing his birth mother. Kevin since the season started is now living up to his potential same as Kate

Rebecca and Randall have moved past that. Rebecca is more than her mistakes. Even though she was wrong, she had her reasons at the time and they were fueled by trauma and grief.

I think she has a special relationship with each of them and for each of them its going to seem like she loves one more than the other but I believe its equal. The way these few episodes have been going they probably weren't going to get married. They have been stressing and asking Madison is she sure that Kevins the one. Then kevin has a breakdown at his bachelors party. I think he is going to Marry Sophie

Am I the only one who thinks Sophie character is boring af? 😑 Like I don't feel nothing for this character and they have never really made me root for her. The only ladies I like for Kevin was Zoe and now Madison. I even liked the 2 girls from season 1 that they never brought back again...the nerdy Jewish playwright or that British Broadway actress. Maybe if the Sophie character was played by someone else, then I would care...more? Idk...

She was everything! I felt like Zoe was his first real adult relationship and Sophie was his first puppy love.

@@jadekincaid9600 I understand what you mean. It's probably to do with poor writing for her character. But the few scenes that Alexandra and Justin had in seasons 1 and 2 were beautiful. They had a real childlike playfulness about them.. like how she brings a crutch to his play for a joke and how they enact his manny meltdown when he returns for the 100th episode. Also the teenage Sophie while she is lovely, doesn't get much character development.. again poor writing imo. my personal preference for Sophie is based on Kevin's reactions and love towards her and how she has always supported him. If you look closely at Kevin's expressions in scenes with Sophie, there is a world of difference compared to how he is with Madison (even Zoe). Madison is an interesting character and I want her to find love but just not with Kevin... she has her funny moments like how she bribed this paparazzi guy. Anyway. Time will tell.. some interesting episodes ahead that's for sure

Now we know that someone isn't well, and is maybe dying, as the girls come 'home,' etc. is it Rebecca as everyone thinks? or someone else. We know it's a she, because the girls asked how she was doing, but we don't know if it could be Beth. Have I missed something, or who's house is that that the girls met Randall at? Is that the "new" house that Kevin and Nicky is supposed to have built for Regecca? People seem to get a lot of stuff that I miss. Anyone know?

I was pretty sad at that revelation, and quite surprised. I honestly imaged that Kate dies at some point in the future and Toby is a grieving widower in the final future scene in 2030 or so. But I’m thinking that Kate really changes and grows deeply confident by her ability to manage baby Jack’s disability and become a gifted and impactful teacher. And Philip witnesses it all and falls madly in love, while Kate’s newfound confidence AND Toby’s frequent commutes to SF might alienate him a bit.

Very unlikely, and this show doesn’t engage in cheap things like that. Also, Nicky didn’t fake his death. Jack lied about Nicky’s death to Rebecca and the kids, and they are the only ones whose perspective we have on this. Nicky wrote to Jack often, and Jack asked him to stop. Nicky was receiving some benefits or at least some acknowledgement by the VA. He never faked his death. He cut himself off from everyone but his brother, who lied about his death.
