I went back and played Warzone 1 in 2023. Not everyone knows that Warzone 1 is still playable to this day, after Warzone 2.0's release. However, only Caldera Battle Royale is available, and maps like Rebirth Island and Fortune's Keep appear to be gone forever.

The reason they took all maps from WZ1 but Caldera was to force people to go spend money in WZ2, but it doesn’t make sense, both games belong to Activision, they can profit from both games as long as they keep updating them both. Let the player choose witch one they wanna play since they’re both very diferente games.

WZ1 was simply satisfying to use, no matter how many times you died you always came back to get better and learn new stuff. People loved this game and removing the best modes on it was a really dirty move by Activision.

That was essentially the final straw for me. There was no reason to remove rebirth island when alcatraz portal quads is STILL on black ops 4 after all this time. Its cause unlike MW19 being able to be better than Bo4, there was NO WAY MW2/WZ2 was gonna be better than rebirth island on WZ1. It's absolutely pathetic.

I also felt that WZ1 had more character, more care and love and just felt ALIVE compared to WZ2. Even the resurgence mode in MW22 just doesn't hit like Rebirth Island. The slide cancel can even stay remove but we all want to actually play the game that is COD and not another tactical shooter to force us to be grounded when we felt free and wild. That's just my take among other opinions I have, it didn't just feel better, it WAS better.

I like your point - the bit at the end about turning WZ1 back on fully is down to how big the code base and with all the integrations the code base is all messy which causes bigger issues. WZ2.0 On the other hand is built with the integrations in mind which won't lead to issues down the road

What I still find funny about Warzone 2 was that in my region, most of the console players complained that they wanted FOV on console and now that they have it, they still play on 80 fov. Now when I spectate them I constantly have to call out an enemy on the edge of the screen which they can’t see since they play on 80fov.

All of what you said i completely agree with. WZ1 was great, and they can capitalize on it more. WZ2 has some issues, but that game can be for the relaxed and casual players. WZ1 with some older guns like the Intervention or og galil would be really good.

I think fully bringing back wz1 would be great and have both Warzone 1 and 2.0 running together would work perfectly for me. I used to jump between MW2019 and Cold War for levelling weapons all the time. It could easily work and perhaps even free upgrade wz1 to next gen.

A thing I haven't seen anyone talk about are optics. In warzone 1 there were so many good optics in warzone 2 its either a really high zoom like 11x with a horrible reticle or its thermal

i loved the first idea! because i have friends who like playing dmz more than the battle royale modes but i like the battle royale resurgence type of gameplay with movement and they like the slower tarkov feel of dmz, making them both have seperate movement would be so good as i like movement but i understand others dont

I agree with what you're saying about maintaining both games and that would definitely make the most sense. Plenty of my friends loved the pace and excitement of rebirth island but due to the changes have given up on the new one, even Ashika Island. Realistically I don't know if they would divert resources away from Warzone 2 unfortunately but absolutely think this would be the best option. It will bring in all of the different type of player who wants to play BR. The aggressive and fast pace for Warzone 1 and then the slower more tactical fans for Warzone 2.

I watch your streams frequently and your game play is awesome, but this is honestly one of your best videos and couldn’t agree more on your points. I have been having fun on Ashika island, but I still think warzone 2 needs a lot of changes. Your mentioning of the looting system, bugs and visual recoil are definitely three of my largest gripes as well. Solid video and hopefully, like you said, season three brings some solid changes.

I use cheap wired controller from Walmart the controls I use are bumper jumper tactical jumping with LB and crouching With RS you don't need to learn claw but for the people that do claw i'm amazed

For me, the best part of Warzone 1 has to be the loadout system. It’s much easier and simpler to level up your gun to unlock attachments than to level up a different gun to get your gun, and then level up another gun to unlock a single attachment. It’s simply stupid and idk how they haven’t changed that yet. Why? It’s so time-consuming, which is exactly the problem they were trying to run away from when making Warzone 2. They should bring Caldera, Rebirth and Fortune’s Keep back together with plunder and all the other game-modes, because they were objectively better.

Sometimes in warzone 2 you can win time to kill if you have 1 plate and enemy have 3 plates still is chance you can win but accuary is very important then

I play on ps5 and your guides helped me get a 1.6 kd. I switched my button layout and everything. I want warzone 1 but most console are stuck on 80 fov. ( there’s hack to get 120 fov and more. I’ve tried them once but they cost to much)

hold to slide cancel is the only way 2 make it and easier for casuals to catch on and press it full for the full slide dnt rly need modded controller or slide jump (break controller and hand)ez game fix the machanic shouldve been simplified and not removed in warzone2 but ur fix is also great imo

i still remembering downloading this game in 2020 in lockdown... it was so fun i was a legit bot but it was more enjoyable than wz2 i miss wz1 and the verdansk days when my friend got a 600m snipe and we freaked out... i was playing mostly plunder and searching for meta loadouts and it was fun when rebirth dropped i loved it but now its gone... rip you may be gone but not forgotten

Great video…1 thing that has really been annoying me is that they dont always have Solos,duos,trios, & quads all available…and if they don’t have the server space or whatever the issue is SOLOS should be the last mode they should ever remove because ppl like myself who don’t always have friends to play with can’t even play the game which has been happening to me with season 3, I paid $30 for the battlepass and haven’t been able to play battle royale or the new massive resurgence on Al mazrah at all these past 5 days bc I only have 2 friends I play with and they haven’t been on

I loved WZ1 my friend and I would play it every single day, but once WZ2 came out we quit it wasn't fun. I wish they could have still left rebirth in WZ1 so that you could choose which one you wanted to play. In my opinion WZ2 killed the game and they can't not make a better version of WZ that is better than WZ1.

Plunder needs to return, before I got the multiplayers i went into plunder to grind and it’s a much better BR practice than multiplayer because of armour.

I think the best solution would of been to feature two game modes a realistic/arcade mode. Arcade mode would be the same game just with the ability to b hop, slide cancel, and a slower ttk. Then everyones happy.
