They are typically found near tides and where a current is. Barnacles are filter feeders so they need moving water to have it bring food to them. You do not want to be near the rocky areas you find them as you could be hit with a changing tide that can suck you into the water and can be so strong you get stuck and drown or it slams you violenty into the surrounding sharp rocks.

Lots of people die in factories producing the goods ou consume daily. Barnacles are not that delicious, I've had many times and they taste good, but I wouldn't consider them a delicacy. That said, not consuming them because people die harvesting, while consuming on a daily basis goods which involve death, slavery or illegal work conditions... seems pretty hypocrite to me. Just eat it if you want to try it, but don't say this nonsense...
