@@Somnavira it’s a take,an opinion, therefore subjective and actually easily evidenced.Society ‘IS’ hyper sexualised, people have access to sexual content younger and younger, young girls and women do feel a pressure to change their bodies and the demand for women to accentuate the parts of their bodies men find most sexual is currently a trend.And these features are forever changing.These trends come about because women are bombarded with imagery around the ‘perfect’ (read sexy) female body.Not to mention that many artists are pushed on the basis of their sexualised looks and this is marketed as talent alone add to that existing female artists feeling pressured to ham it up in the same way to keep the gaze on themselves.The porn industry is a multi billion pound one and that has consequences.Young boys are watching violent pornography and it’s reflected in their language and attitudes to women.Schools report seeing more overtly degrading language used by boys against girls and girls wanting to wear make up,lose weight,use skincare and dress to be seen as more attractive younger than ever before.

Let's not forget that Rihanna had her own Mean Girl era. But the difference is, Rihanna had years in the game, a solid fanbase, and undeniable talent that drew people to her. It's not right to be a mean girl for any reason, but Ice Spice, she got too full of herself and mean-spirited way too soon in her career. And her team, enabling her, only made things worse. Ice Spice was still a newbie in the industry, even with big celebrities co-signing her, she hadn't built a loyal fanbase yet. So as of now, she lost 38 million monthly listeners in a year.

@zjadacz_agrestu420 Ай бұрын
yeah, I didn’t really get that point. Maybe it’s a US thing? I live in Poland and here it works like this: people in the audience always come on set times to concerts, aware that the support is gonna play for an hour and after that the main artist showes up. It’s the standard, except music festivals.
@bbstargirltaylorss
@bbstargirltaylorss Ай бұрын
i’m from the us, hollywood to be specific. every concert ive been to, the main artist comes out 45-2hrs late, even if the opener started at the time the flyer says. usually after the opener, theres just a period where the hype dies down and the opener leaves and so we are just there waiting for the show to resume again. so maybe its a us thing. another thing is the concerts i go to are always rap, hiphop, r&b, and trap artists like don toliver, travis scott, ski mask, carti, teezo, etc. so maybe its just rappers and hiphop artists as well.

@@bbstargirltaylorssHello. I work here at the venues in Los Angeles, to be specific here in Inglewood (SoFi Stadium, KZbin theater, The Forum, intuit dome). This is a problem and a pattern I’ve seen ONLY with HipHop artists. When I worked Travis Scott concert last year, he was about two hours late to the concert. He blamed the venue for being the reason he cut his concert short, but the city holds a certain time for every artist to be off stage and it’s usually around 11-11:30. He would’ve had to pay extra to perform longer. Like I said it’s only been with HipHop artists where I notice this pattern. I usually work for Spanish and Pop artists, and they’re usually 20 minutes late at max. Rock/metal is always the one on time, sometimes even 5 minutes earlier than scheduled.

Y'all will call anything a man says misogyny as long as it isn't glorifying women. A lot of men have the same opinions and views as the women in the video but will still get called misogynist. 🙄 (Edited: A bit of context because I thought the red flags were that obvious and people don't want to read my long replies: The commenter is calling the women in the video "level headed and smart" when she's hella misogynistic. Misogynistic Remarks About Ice Spice: She threw out some unnecessary, negative comments about Ice Spice that would definitely be labeled as misogynistic if a guy had said them. Hearting a Comment That Insult Ice Spice: She hearted a comment that put down Ice Spice’s looks, which just adds to the toxic energy. She also said "oop" like it was some kind of joke. 😬 Objectifying Assumptions About Ice Spice’s Clothing: She implied (thumbnail) that Ice Spice wears revealing outfits just to get male attention, which is classic slut-shaming. It reduces Ice Spice’s choices to being all about men, which is NOT it. Also, She hasn't even shown just how Ice Spice's action were only for men and not her female audience. In fact, All of the examples she shown wasn't even directly targeted at men. She just saw a hot girl and said, "Yeah, That's for men." Disturbing Comparison: She even said Ice Spice “looks like a high schooler,” which is both false and honestly kind of creepy. Ngl, I didn't think much of the comment because a lot of people make comments about me looking way younger than my age but by saying that about an adult woman has some weird undertones that just don’t sit right. Especially considering the main purpose of the video is to show how Ice Spice is "relying" on her looks. Despite all this, OP is calling her “level-headed” while ignoring how toxic her behavior actually is. It shows a double standard, where she's getting a pass for saying problematic things simply because she’s a woman.)

That's men for ye. They say sexist shit, don't listen, objectify women, and then blame women for all their problems. My sister is dating a asshole who clearly never listens. My sister was raging at him one time cuz he refuses to clean. I straight up walked up to him and told him his relationship is bound to fail if he keeps his childish behavior up. He just told me I don't understand how relationships works since I've never dated. Sure I don't understand how they work, however I ain't ever gonna tolerate a man child who isn't going to contribute to the household chores. Additionally his ignorance just shows his lack of understanding, compassion, and commitment. He'll just move on when he finds someone prettier. Then the younger men(18-24) are absolute jokes. The compliment each other on how much sex they can get. That's all that matters to them knuckleheads, holes. As they say a hole is a hole. Plus they slap each others asses and dry hump each other at work. Kind of hilarious. I can no longer men seriously. They're just idiouts who hold all the power and call women silly ad naive. Love it. It's because the concept of childhood has shifted massively. There's no need to blame girls who are just like two years away from having been children. It's that the exposure kids get from the media changes their view on what they SHOULD be. And let's remember that teenage girls literally cannot buy whatever they want to buy, they are kids, it's the parents that allow it.

@@theonebreadlord that is not true. teenagers can buy their own clothes especially if they have a job or if they get allowance from their parents. Are there parents that allow this behavior, yes, but we cannot forget that there are plenty of examples of teenagers choosing to dress this way. When I was in highschool i remember girls that would change their clothes after leaving their house so their parents wouldn’t see. Though I agree that social media plays a lot into this but believing that these teenagers cannot buy their own clothes or bear any responsibility for their choices is naive and it infantilizes them.

As far as public persona Jlo went through this when she first got started. She was a media darling, and slowly stories came out that she was a mean girl. 20 odd years later and her pr team worked hard to change that perception, but if you're a mean, guess you can't change that. Jlo's saving grace is she was an accomplished dancer, and a great actor. There was a lot to work with outside of music. Ice is gonna have to fight a bit harder to rehabilitate her mean girl antics.

So she was friends with her all this time meaning she has same type of mindset and was letting it slide. After first message she should've dropped her and cut contact. Airing out someone's family business is 100% cowardly and out of pocket. Also leaked messages are violation of privacy. Of course her saying racist comments should be exposed! Regarding Baby Storme accusing her...I didn't know about her before your video but since you asked about our opinions...what I can say is that sometimes we become friends with people without fully knowing them. And as time passes they begin to show who they really are, especially narcissistic people like Ice Spice. So we feel betrayed and hurt because there was initially an emotional connection for us to be their friends and we realize they hurt people around them and are just generally bad people. The problem is a narcissistic person is very charming so a lot of people love them and it can be very frustrating, + them being in the same world of the music industry, it can build up and we just want to show everyone who they really are. As a warning, and also so people understand where we're coming from. Because Ice Spice is the king of girl to make up stories about people who no longer support her or turn a blind eye to her disgusting actions.
@deltasaves
@deltasaves 2 ай бұрын
Agree with all of this. Though I've run into Storme, I'd never say she's a friend and she does have her issues (hoping she's working on them as we all can end up in a situation type deal one day), but I have been in that position and thought someone was a friend and you overlook small things for a long time. Took me a year to realize how terrible someone truly was because I was ignoring the little things because I was also an "outcast" a bit growing up. I know what it's like. But sometimes that is needed because people are totally trash and they suck up vulnerable people to "befriend" to look better.

Parents need to step in and parent their child if the music they're listening to is inappropriate. Now, if Ice Spice actively chooses to incorporate minors in an inappropriate way in her music then yes, she 100% deserves to be held accountable for that, but people need to stop crying about artists not being child friendly.

My mama always told me about a woman she grew up with. She said she would always tell her “Pretty is as pretty does”. In other words if you act ugly it makes you look ugly and if you act pretty i.e. kind, polite, well mannered etc. then you look pretty. So I grew up with that and it made me more critical of my actions and it made me look more closely at others actions. So I can say I’ve met a lot of pretty people that are real ugly and a lot of ugly people that are absolutely beautiful. Yo actions really can determine yo beauty and the only way you get around that is if the person you being ugly too is blinded by yo looks cause a person who can see ain’t gone fool with you. But a rich man have many friends so you know. P.S. for a folk thats curious about that last bit its Proverbs 19:4. and it’s not worded that way I say it.

They act that way because they have let go of their inhibitions due to influx of money or power. In most cases, they are just showing their latent thoughts in actions. They acted much nicer because there were, maybe subconscious, 'concerns'. Now they don't have those concerns they act differently.
