I think this needs to be said.. At the time of recording this video I was trying out 3 different Bipolar medications - Latuda, Rexulti & Abilify. The diagnosis was brand new for me & I wanted to make a video to help myself not feel so alone, and maybe provide some value to others who were going through the same thing. ADHD, Bipolar, Autism - all of these symptoms overlap each other. There is no one specific case for everyone & everyone’s experience with these disorders are different. Please do not watch this video & say “oh I guess I’m bipolar now” - that was not my intention. My intention was to express what I was feeling when I got the diagnosis & to see if other people may have been experiencing the same thing. Yes, these could be symptoms, but it all depends on you and your life. I was at a place where these things were heavily affecting my everyday life to the point where I was not able to function. If that is not you, then you’re good! 😊

I was in abilify for four years, starting in middle school. I was severely depressed and was sent to a mental hospital who put me on abilify without consulting my parents and when my mom tried to talk to the doctor he wouldn’t tell her anything, just that i would be starting some new medications and that i was doing a lot better. 4 years and 150 lbs later I was diagnosed as pre diabetic because for some individuals who take abilify, the Ghrelin and Leptin in their stomach stops working and stops being created. This is not talked about enough! I was 15 years old and pre diabetic because of abilify because i was always hungry (no leptin or ghrelin) and i thought i was doing something wrong. i didn’t realize it was because of my medication. before starting or stopping any medications do your research!!! abilify changed my life for the worse and caused so many more mental health issues than i started with. (also side note that mental hospital was ass and because of their actions i could be dead if i dint persistently tell my mom that something wasn’t right, also i am not bipolar and didn’t need to be on abilify in the first place)

I'm actually going to show my husband this video. He has BP type 1 and BPD symptoms and alexithymia (from a head injury that one). He got diagnosed last year after a really bad incident that happened (he's fine now! On meds and all!), and I'm going to show him this because sometimes he really beats himself up about his symptoms. Thinking he's the only one in the world and hating himself. A very toxic love for himself. And I think him seeing others with a mental health disorder like him might help him because I only have PTSD and ADHD, so I understand him but I don't. Ya know? Have a wonderful day! ♡♡♡

I think the thing to consider with a diagnosis of any kind is that any of these can be normal to anyone but if they are EXTREME, it can be indicative of a disorder. I’d rather have someone resonate with something like this and seek help, than see this comment and think that they shouldn’t seek help because their concerning behaviors are “normal” to some random person online. These symptoms and how they present themselves are also very relative, so it’s odd to say that anything should look a specific way because it is that way to you.

you shouldn't be diagnosing yourself from a youtube short regardless. Everyone is human and will experience human things. Moods are one of our human experiences. Being Bipolar effects something the majority of humans have and experience, of course they will say these things. It's apart of our vocab for a reason. Though, "normal" people won't think about these things as commonly, as harshly, and as intensely without having some sort of deeper rooted issue.

I got diagnosed with bipolar 2 back in 2009. I had been misdiagnosed with anxiety and severe depression by my GP and was prescribed medications to treat those conditions, which made my bipolar disorder SIGNIFICANTLY worse. I had been on a wait list to see a psychiatrist for over a year at that point, my mental health kept declining until I woke up one day and just decided “I’m done”. I cleaned my room top to bottom, removed all the art from my walls, I packed all my clothes from my dresser and closet into black trash bags, I packed all the books on my shelves into boxes along with everything else. I took the sheets and blankets and pillow cases off my bed and washed them, dried them and folded them and put them in the trash bags too. I stacked all the boxes and bags in my closet. My Dad thought maybe I was just reorganizing my bedroom, as he was leaving the house to run an errand I hugged him and told him I loved him, and then I went to the upstairs bathroom, locked the door, I took a large quantity of a specific substance and took a bath, it was 3 pm. I’m not going to go into all the details, but my Dad got hit with “a really bad feeling” when he was about two blocks away from the house, he turned around and came home. I woke up in a hospital about two weeks later, I had been in a medically induced coma. I was finally moved up the waiting list and was paired with a psychiatrist, and after some testing I was diagnosed with type 2 bipolar disorder. It took a long time to figure out the right meds and the correct dosages, and I had slip ups, and some in patient stays, but I haven’t had a significant manic or depressive episode(or even really mood swings) since 2012. It took allot of work, allot of patience, allot of consistency, allot of trust, allot of love, allot of sheer will to get to where I am today, but it was worth it.

It's scary to be on the other side of that Lind of uncontrollable rage. Most people don't recognise they do this... and just focus on why they feel bad themselves. The real indication is how many people they've hurt or brought into their pain...how many others they've blamed because they can't comprehend the emotions. It's very important to get diagnosed properly...most won't. Why do I have this opinion? Being with someone with unmanaged bipolar was utterly life destroying. I don't have bipolar and I agree these are too vague. I have ADHD and I could copy the text exactly but replace bipolar with ADHD and I'll get a ton of ADHDers relating and resonating. I don't think the way he's formulated these points communicates well what about his experience with these traits is linked to or caused by bipolar to people who don't have bipolar. But maybe that wasn't the intent of the short anyway? Maybe it was just meant to be enjoyed by people who have bipolar and already understand their condition to a certain extend?

Sorry if that's triggering, but I've been an abuse victim of someone with bipolar. It ruined my life and I'm bitter af. Not meaning to insult, rather, I think if people know they have something wrong.. they must manage it. It seems like you know what you're doing. Which is great. However always be very mindful that the rage can creep up easily...even when it's totally unreasonable. I know it can't be helped...but there are victims out there. I had to say my piece. Peace. I did however notice that she would have moments where she would go on what seemed to me like these “wild” adventures, where she would be promiscuous, she would do drugs, drink a lot, party a lot, etc. then she would have very low moments where she was very depressed and anxious and felt like she could not function. I couldn’t relate to that because GAD does not have such strong highs and lows like bipolar disorder. So yes there are some symptoms that are the same but they are not the same condition.

By this point, content creators need to take into consideration how their content will be interpreted. Not disputing your Bi-polar diagnosis, but even within 1 or 2 Bipolar versions there are intensity aspects, the traits alone don't indicate bi-polar. Also, I've noticed people confusing the acronym BPD as meaning Bi-Polar Disorder, when it indicate Borderline Personality Disorder, which people then confuse that with multiple personality disorder. The amount of people in this comment section who have no idea what bipolar is, is frightening. This ISNT bipolar!!! Do your research. Bipolar disorder is just as bad as schizophrenia (if you have type 1) the symptoms overlap each other. You must have atleast one episode of mania or hypomania to be properly clinically diagnosed with any form of bipolar. If this man had bipolar he most definitely would have stated that he experienced mania or hypomania!!! EDUCATE YOURSELVES BEFORE SELF DIAGNOSING.

@@Imalecchambers There’s no such thing as bipolar depression. You cannot have bipolar without the manias or hypomanias. Bipolar disorder is a VERY serious mental illness that you cannot just throw the word around. Please go to a doctor and get properly diagnosed. Your symptoms seem to be depressive disorder along with social anxiety disorder. Yes you can have mood swings of happy and sad when your depressed. There’s also other mood disorders out there that could best fit on how your feeling but bipolar is not the one. Even for bipolar 2 you need to experience atleast one hypomania.

There's the spirit and the spiritual things, but there's also the flesh, and the flesh is both the quasi strictly physical things and also the mind. Our thoughts have a literal physical expression in our physical brains. It's not ALL spiritual. Also, if you think it is, how do you know what? Please introspect. This is not what the bible teaches. The bible doesn't teach that every mental thing is a spiritual thing. Infact it teaches there's both spiritual reasons and "the flesh" as a reason. I've been Christian my whole life. The world is comlex, life is complex, and the enemy in the spiritual is trying to make things even more complex and confusing than they already are. We experience physical mental illness and the enemy uses that as a vulnerability and attacks us spiritually too so we deal with both. But when you take care of the spiritual you still have the physical to deal with. And sometimes it's only the physical and sometimes it's only the spiritual. For about a year I struggled with depressive phases which only got more frequent, longer and more intense overtime. I completely got rid of those and very quickly at that through just solely spiritual warfare. So that was only spiritual. I have ADHD, ADHD is not inherently an illness or "bad" but it can cause a lot of issues if a person doesn't know they have it, doesn't understand it, doesn't manage it appropriately. All of the ADHD issues I had and still have are just physical. There's nothing spiritual about it. Yes, God still helps with those things which are only physical and He's helped me with ADHD issues too. He's a God of the physical and of the spiritual, not just one or the other. But it's important to know there is a distinction between the two. They can br connected and they are connected but they are still distinct and failing to recognize thay and built a basic understanding of that is highly likely to cause you to mismange your own health or harm others, or even abuse others. And fail to solve problems, both problems based in the physical and in the spiritual. I would say my issues with stress are an example of the physical and the spiritual mixing. So I dare say I've experienced all three versions - something that was quasi only spiritual, something that was only physical and something that was mixed. There is an entire book in the bible dedicated to wisdom. God definitely values wisdom and emphasizes how important wisdom is for us humans. I believe God delights in the work all types of doctors do because it's a work of love.

Even though people say that these symptoms are too vague for diagnosis. I agree to these. What’s really behind my diagnosis is the high and low. You do overtime at your job, you can do anything. You don’t need to sleep, I was baking cookies at 3am. Spending excessive ampunts of money, credit card on limit. Being overly sexual. Being rude to your friends. Talking fast and loud, laughing at your own jokes. After all of this super flow you crash against a wall and have suicidal thoughts and can’t get up from bed or do any chores around the house. You regret everything you’ve done while manic. Suddenly your heavy depression is instantly cured and you feel like nothing can’t stop you. I always thought I am an extrovert. I had these ”traits”, that disappeared after my therapy and finding the right meds. Now I feel stable and balanced.

Without them you do not have bipolar. You must experience atleast one mania to be properly diagnosed with bipolar. (This is a fact you can look it up) A lot of people think “oh no I’m experiencing being happy and then sad through out the day I must be bipolar!” They have no idea how truly bad it is and what other symptoms come with it. It frustrates me that this mental illness isn’t taught or focused on more. Everyone is accepting and understands depression and anxiety but when it comes to bipolar people don’t realize it’s just as bad as schizophrenia (when you have bipolar type 1 in some cases) it’s such an awful mental disorder that you cannot just live with.
