Whats up! As a drifter that has like 1k hours+ on sim drifting. I'm pretty much impressed with how fast you learned. GG's bro!! I will give you some tips to improve frow now on: 1. Use less handbrake 2. Left foot braking is the key to smooth lines and drifts in general. 3. Avoid correcting too much lines nor' catching back the car with your steering wheel. Start handling the car with your pedals a little bit more. 4. Try to initiate drifts with clutch kicks and flicks. It will be a smoother and faster drift. 5. Don't give up! You have the natural talent. :)

Thanks so much man, that means a lot! I appreciate you taking the time to write all of that out, you're the bomb! I'm gonna write these down to look at while I practice!
@DiegsurfPlays79 ай бұрын
yea i think sometimes it goes unoticed just how much you can drift without even touching the handbrake at all, just clutch kicking, throttle, and using the cars weight. (totally not because i havent bought a handbrake yet LOL)

@@DiegsurfPlays7 maybe I should've waited to get mine! 🤣

lol yeah the handbrake is a GREAT tool, but it is by far not even needed for drifting at all.
@luqmannhaqeem10 ай бұрын
You were surprisingly good when you first started, at least you were able to hold a drift up until the exit. I wasn't as good as you were as a beginner. And you progressed quite a a lot within a month! Try to use less handbrake, because as much as it is fun and an easy way to initiate a slide, it will become a crutch and develop into a bad habit over time. Save it for corrections/emergencies. Imagine transitioning between corners except you do it consistently everywhere on the track. This will help you to setup your entry in a way that reduces the need for the handbrake. And if you come from a long straight, try flicking the car or kicking the clutch. Utilize your left foot for braking during initiations/transitions to shift the weight on the rear end of the car. With your left foot on the brake and your right on the throttle, you will be able to "steer" the car without the steering wheel, leading to a much smoother transition. There are so much more tips and tricks to drifting but the most crucial thing is to know what to practice. Practicing without knowing what to practice on will emphasize your mistakes and burn it into your muscle memory. Good luck and have fun, you're off to a strong start!

Thats some nice sliding. I have been drifting for about 2 months with my g27 and im thinking of getting fanatec csl dd, since i feel the wheel is holding me back. Glad you have a good wheel to start with!
@tannerggs48410 ай бұрын
It definitely makes a huge difference. I tried my brother's g923, and the fundamentals transfer, but the experience is better all around on my fanatec. I'd recommend the boost kit for the full 8nm if you can!
@CubanMontana8310 ай бұрын
@@tannerggs484 Thanks for the info! Fanatec it is then!
@excite.winters10 ай бұрын
Just buy a moza hbp handbrake instead of the fanatec one if you go that route, as someone who went a full fanatec simrig, that's probably the only downside I've had 😂 their handbrake suuuucks. Also buy the pedals and the load cell brake upgrade and you can use the standard brake as your clutch, the sponge in it gives it a bit of push back which feels nice on the clutch.
@jbtnproductions72458 ай бұрын
great evolution friend, to refine it even more, try to refine the countersteer, your line will improve a lot if you manage to treat the steering wheel more smoothly, control the accelerator more and have good runs

Thanks for the advice! I've been watching some other drifters and it's crazy how little they adjust the wheel while they're sliding haha. Thanks for commenting!

Awesome progress! Now that youre getting more comfortable with your rig, I highly recommend picking up a VR headset. Having actual 3D depth perception and the ability to look around gives you a much better sense of where the car is and how close you are to walls. It will also make tandems a lot easier. Its also just an unmatched experience. Its gotten to the point where I struggle to drift on my monitors now 😂

@tannerggs48410 ай бұрын
Make it fun! If it's not fun, it's not worth it in my opinion. It got really frustrating, and still can be, so it's good to take breaks. Seat time is so important. The more you drive, the more your muscle memory learns how the car reacts to throttle/steering/braking. Ctoretto has a great series to get started as well, and it helped me with throttle control a lot (I still need to work on this a ton). I've gotten a couple great comments with advice on this video as well, if you want to look at those!
