I have a Moza R21 wheel that I've really enjoyed using, but I recently came across the DIY FFBeast Direct Drive. The total cost for all the parts was around $100 to $145, and I have to say, my DIY wheel actually outperforms my Moza R21! Okay my DYI FFBeast wheel is only about 15Nm of torque but thats plenty, i never had my moza on max anyway! So if you own a soldering iron, some basic tools and have a littel bit of DYI skills and access to a 3D printer, Nothing beats FFBeast,

Lol yep... weird. I have the CSL DD, and I got it last December. Got the boost kit recently. And now I just want more torque yet again... I'm either getting the CSDD+ or the Simagic Alpha I think next. CSDD will have full force and is slightly a better base, so I am considering staying with Fanatec. But I really love the idea of cheap NRG QRs on simagic too. Then there's a part of me that just wants to stay with the csl dd, as I've managed to keep to a budget so far with mostly cheap stuff. Or at least try and get a year out of it.

I use a g920 with the Logitech pedals and shifter with a usb handbrake and once you figure out how to use it right for drifting it's a blast. I'm ready to upgrade but I still can't see spending what these companies are asking for dd wheels. I made my own stand though out of wood and I like it way better than all of the store bought stands I've seen. I can customize it however I want. I can add or remove stuff as I want. Plus it's way sturdier than most stands since they're made from cheap aluminum in most cases. I have a buddy that had the welds start snapping on his store bought stand and he ended up making one out of wood and now he regrets not doing that in the first place.

Sounds like Fanatec has been having some shipping issues haha 🤣 I mainly went Fanatec for compatibility, but lately Moza has been working for most games anyway.

Moza reliability is questionable at best and support is downright terrible. Janky Chinese brand with zero support. It was a joke. My R9 died a year in and I tried to have it warrantied. Absolute nightmare. They have no processes or SOP. They literally told me to just send it to an address in China. Lo and behold, it's stuck in customs with no way forward. I'm making it a personal goal to share my story. If I can stop someone else from losing money, that's a huge comfort. Do your own research on Moza reddit, discord and other forums.

Jip, currently going down the rabbit hole.. Started off thinking fanatec, because it's the only dd for Playstation.. Would have gotten the 5nm and get a third party boost kit with the m3 gt2 wheel and the v2 pedals. But for not much more.money I have now decided to Simagic Alpha 15nm with the P1000 inverted pedals, gts wheel. Aluminum rig, with triple screen mount. 3 x 32" 1440p monitors.. oh and I also now need to get a pc to run It all.. 😂

Bro, you gotta let me know how the Simagic stuff is when you get it! I mostly got Fanatec because of compatibility, but these days other DD bases seem to work on all the same games anyway. Lots of good options out there nowadays!

By separating all the components they rope you in to buy more than you were intending. Seeing component prices doesn't seem so bad until you get to the checkout. You come back in a week or two try and add this or that to the cart and release it is still too much money. Until one day you say fk it and buy it.
