Pols have unmatched social endurance. It blows my mind. My first pre-party lasted till midnight and then we walked a mile + to the Vistula River. By 2am we still hadn't made it to our final destination and my Polish co-workers were totally un-phased and ready to party. XD

You mentioned most popular places to visit (Kraków, Warszawa, Oświęcim). I would recommend underground attractions of South - mines, we do have: coal mine (Guido Coal Mine in Zabrze, Śląsk) with a pub 320 meters underground, Silver mine (in Tarnowskie Góry, also Śląsk) with underground boats ride and salt Mines (in Wieliczka and Bochnia, Małopolska) both are different, but great experience and near Krakow:) in Zabrze is also a huge industrial complex dedicated to coal mining (Sztolnia Królowa Luiza) with underground boats, kilometers of tunnels with different level of difficulties and with a steam engine in operation for over 100 years that operated a mine elevator

Some of the comments point to what I noticed right away when watching the video. And what may be shown in the future as an example of the sensitivity of Poles ;) Auschwitz was a German / German Nazi camp and IMO it is worth presenting it this way. The very term Nazi for Poles is often incomplete and incorrect. There was no Poland then, no one else but the Germans created hell and barbarity on the occupied land. I think it is something very sensitive and I hope the whole world will never forget about those attrocities.

in my opinion gb plus' comment is a fairly typical comment from Poland. Vigo talked about visiting the museum and memorial in Poland on the grounds of the former death camp of Auschwitz and Birkenau. If you put emphasis on the fact that this death camp was built by Germans, then you should also put emphasis on the fact that Malbork was built by Germans as well. You can easily get the impression that there is some cherry picking in Poland when it comes to historic sites. Besides Auschwitz is a Unesco World Heritage site for a reason. It is not about what language was spoken in the camp - it should concern everybody, everybody schould visit it and learn from it, that things like that never ever happen again.

Next February married to my Polish wife for 20 years. First Polish wedding was about 18 years ago. Was great. Second wedding we came from America for was in an Old Palace that was a school. We had rooms to sleep in after the party and waking up at 5 am to go back to party was way different than a US weddding. Retired and living back in Poland since last August and would agree after finally visiting many of sites you noted they are must see, especially Old Town Krakow. The Castle I have not been to but will add to my places to visit. TY for the videos.

hahaha....I love your point of view of polish weddings ...it's true....especially in the villages sometimes takes whole week to celebrate ....I remember when my cousin have got married in 80 they killed pigs ,cow and chicken and another animals...they made own sausages and blood sausages and ham and other food the first what they served was chicken soup or "flaki" perfect base for drinking vodka straight....at midnight was another warm soup like red borscht or flaki....and in the morning the best soup for hangover was white borscht....and party start again....

Oświęcim-Brzezinka to nie był nazistowski obóz koncentracyjny, tylko niemiecki nazistowski obóz koncentracyjny. Przez takie niedopowiedzenia słyszy się potem o polskich obozach koncentracyjnych. Wielu, zwłaszcza młodych, ludzi na Zachodzie i w ogóle poza granicami naszego kraju nie kojarzy kim naprawdę byli naziści. Speaking bout Śmigus Dyngus and that water thing - that habit is pretty old, propably comes from pagan times. Heard one day that splashing with water means to clean body (in obligatory mix with beating up somebody's back with willow stick as for purifying of the spirit), but that tradition is old and I can prove why. You see, polish rodnovery (I mean by this worshippers of Slavic Gods, ancestors and nature) and Catholic Church of Poland have indeed a truly hard relationship. Why? Both those groups have claims to this tradition. Catholic Church says that it's connected to time, when John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ in Jordan river. At the same time, they (Catholic priests) can't say, why we are beating backs of our friends and kins with that willow stick. And we, rodnoverys (rodzimowiercy) have an answer for that. Śmigus Dyngus comes from either Jare Gody (day of greeting the spring and farewelling of the winter) or Noc Kupały/Kupalnocka (I'm calling it by myself "festival of life", "Slavic Valentine's Day", "festival of elements" and another names), where firstly Śmigus Dyngus was divided into two separated habits. In first one, you had to take a normal bath as for cleaning up the body from all diseases. In second - beating up back with stick for cleaning up the spirit (maybe some primitive form of exorcisms - in some folk tales people used to do it in order to get rid of demons). So Śmigus Dyngus is truly old habit. Ancient one even.
