My first overseas trip with Erin was to Panglao. We fell even more in love and had such a good time. This time I'm back but she's at home, pregnant.
Freediving with the Sardines was again...Incredible! And it was so great seeing Balicasag Island in all it's glory. Last time we were here was Chinese new year. It was sooo busy and there were hundreds of tourists walking over the reef.
If you haven't already, add Panglao to your freediving wish list! It is a must to visit.

Panglao and balicasag is my scuba diving destiny every year. I have at least 25 to 50 dives in 2-3 months in panglao and balicasag alone. Last year or 2 years ago, the panglao local gov, strictly imposed a ticketed only divers allowed to dive and for a certain number of divers only. In a good day, you will see at least 25 sea turtles swimming by. Alona Kew (panglao) to Balicasag, small banca, takes you for 45 min to an hour. Big scuba divers banca, can take you 25 minutes to 45 minutes. Hire local dive shop rather than the foreigners dive shop, because local guides are better in negotiating specialize dives or excursions.
