Amazing. Would be great if you manage to find the owner in Texas.

Simon Yorke designs had a turntable with an arm floating in air 20 years ago.

@AudiophileJunkie You must admit, the keywitch is cool. Keeps Fremer out of testing it! Looks like their target market is Asia. Keep up with the great finds, Jason!

I enjoy a high end turntable, and even crazy designs. But these ultra over-engineered designs never seem to stop and answer the question "how much is too much?" In other words, they go to insane lengths to reduce "vibration" but rarely explain what type of vibrations they are plausibly stopping. Vibrations from where exactly? Are these for people who live over subway tracks?

It's a fair point, but a turntable is actually one area where it makes more sense to over build it. Testing has shown a fraction of a millimeter can impact the sound of the stylus in the groove. Thus, removing vibrations and good to neurotic lengths has a little more justification than other pieces. Nevertheless, it's still just done for the .0001% crowd... Just like super exotic watches overbuilt just to tell time.

@@AudiophileJunkie Oh I certainly get the general concept. I own a Transrotor high mass turntable myself, and went to great lengths building an isolation shelf (with Townhend spring pods etc). But at some point it's like the endless audiophile products that promise to "lower your noise floor even more" - as if we have some infinite capacity to hear in to ultra quiet noise floors that can never be exceeded. Similarly, there has to be a point not just of diminishing returns in these mega turntables, but returns that just stopped entirely well before they had to go to those lengths.
