The worst part, is even if you talk to somebody who accept the argument. Even if you talk to family, you can bring up problems, explain how this is a problem more for men than woman. Then after a week or 2, they will forget everything, and reset to think woman are suppressed and men just need to toughen up.

Well done for having guests like Konstantin on your channel Steven, he talks a lot of sense on range of issues. Mens issues (they are human too and also have emotional issues lets not forget) do tend to be secondary, particularly in areas of domestic abuse, child custody and no fault divorce. As someone who was verbally, emotionally and on several occasions physically abused by a former girlfriend I didnt find society really cared about my plight in the way it would have been received if it had been the other way around. I was never looking for sympathy just an outlet to voice my struggles, people (usually women) are often referred to as "survivors" after such toxic relationships. I dont see myself as a "survivor" but someone who had an unhealthy tolerance level towards accepting toxic behaviour, since corrected through psychotherapy and improvements to self esteem. Toxic and abusive characteristics are not reserved solely for men, we need to be more mindful of that if we are to better understand eachother. I am pleased to say, after education of the "hall marks" of coercive/ controlling / abusive behaviour and developing self esteem, forming boundaries etc that I am now in a much much healthier relationship with mutual respect being the foundation on which it is built.

Some good nuggets here, but something big has to change or men's problems won't get fixed: The misandry MUST stop. Misogyny is generally not accepted in our society but misandry is and it's often celebrated. That's not the way to do business. Men and women need to work together, yes, but not like this. The tolerance for misandry must go. No more excuses for it and no more telling men to just “man up” in response to being psychologically abused. Surely that's a reasonable request. Men, I have course of action to suggest: start calling out any misandry you see and start filing complaints to organizations that display it. Don't just shrug it off, let them know you're unimpressed. Keep the self improvement, avoid victimhood thinking but we have to stand up for ourselves.

This video nails the symptoms but misses the real problem. Sure, self-improvement is cool, but it's not gonna fix the systemic BS causing all this. High suicide rates, loneliness, depression - these aren't just personal failings. We're dealing with a rigged economic system, outdated gender roles, and a society that treats young men as disposable. Telling guys to 'work harder' or 'find a mentor' is just slapping a Band-Aid on a bullet wound. How about we talk about fixing the actual issues, such as: -A cutthroat job market that pits everyone against each other -Ridiculous housing costs that make independence nearly impossible -An education system that leaves many in crippling debt -Toxic expectations of masculinity that mess with mental health -Lack of affordable mental health care These are the real problems we need to tackle. Just saying.

We are still fellow human beings & we need each other as brothers and fathers, business partners, teammates etc. Men are not biologically disposable either. Again men are needed. It's that men are needed to put their lives on the line & do difficult and dangerous things & to protect women & children. It's necessary for men to be exposed to danger more, but we are also endowed with much less vulnerability to that danger. This cynical shorthand of no one's coming to save you is just false and misleading overgeneralization.

If we are reverting back to evolutionary and biological realities with men vs women, what happens when men start embracing it and lean into it? We developed social structures and cultures to change the nature of the game. Now, we are reverting back to evolutionary interpretations and letting men take all the hits. Why maintain the society? We created codes of conduct, rights, marriage, and culture to avoid the laws of the jungle. Now, we use the laws of the jungle to justify treating men as disposable tools? Instead of using codes of conduct, rights, good marriage rules etc to make a healthy game? No, that would inconvenience women. We are squandering wholesale the work that was done in the past to preserve the rights and dignity of everyday men (and it's not really a favor to women). The crush of reverting back to biological disposability is being felt. It's building up a large debt and resentment. No one is measuring it. It will spill over.

I dont understand the whole Harvey Weinstien thing. The man makes a scummy proposal, fame and power and connections at the cost of your soul, but someone has to accept that proposal. Doesnt that need to be called out also? He didnt elevate these people from extreme suffering, he merely elevated them from being average. None of these people did it to save their lives or someone else's, they all did it for the immense profit and power and if you consider that, then who is really the victim? That seems like a trade to me. I really think that needs to be called out too. MeToo always felt like a cover up by exposing something we innately view as evil to hide bad actions by other side which were in process of coming to light or being gossiped about. Listen to how those celebs talk about it before and after the scandal; they all were complacent

That’s an interesting take, but the basic problem still remains i.e. work was conditional on agreeing to inappropriate demands. Where film stars are concerned (and perhaps most other audience-facing jobs in entertainment) it’s always tempting to see them as a luxury that elevates a person from being ordinary to being extraordinary. However, films being so beloved by the public, as well as film and TV being the dominant forms of storytelling for a storytelling species, means that there will always be a need for film stars; add to that the enormous cost of making the films and the stars will need to be presented as extraordinary in order to get people to see the film. Lastly, a person needs to be paid for their time and a film star can demand a high fee if they are associated with previous box office successes (just as anyone whose services are in demand can do). Ultimately it comes down to the question of whether it’s ever acceptable that the demands were made (by Weinstein, or anyone else) in the first place, and once future success becomes tied to consenting to such demands a line has been crossed.

I agree that men / boys need to focus on finding a purpose and pursuing it. The problem these days a lot of boys who come from single family homes have no male role model until they're men. This is because the Education system is largely staffed by women. so, from Kindergarten on, most of their guidance is from women. And, especially these days, the default view in a lot of schools seem to be that boys are broken and need to be trained to be more like girls are supposed to be - consensus seeking, ideology reaffirming, emotion over logic or restraint, safetyist, etc. And, even if a boy has a Father in the home, it's still 12 years minimum in a system that tells them their natural inclinations are wrong and that they need to suppress their energies instead of learning how to channel them. About the only time boys get a reprieve is if they do sports. That's sometimes their only access to strong male guidance and a reinforcement of Good Male instincts. So, I don't think it's male victimhood when Men aren't "being better." It's often that they've never been taught how they should be men and what that actually means.

There is a lack of appreciation by society for men. Men were the solution to making a great society where we could thrive. Over time society then forgot that the solution to misery was men. Instead, because the problem was so well managed, people saw flaws in the solution and invented the Patriarchy to attack the solution. We need to educate people about this and teach how we can appreciate the society that our ancestors created. That's not comparable and factually wrong. One is about physical properties (fish truly cannot "use" the toilet same way as humans do, but the toilet is just a more convenient to do exactly same thing as we are evolved to do in the nature - we would not for example be evolved for a toilet that would use centrifugal force to empty your intestines.. ), second is about evolved basic wirings in the brain basically every mammal - as any species who adopted K-selection strategy simply cannot operate on "any member is equally worthless" - it must protect the females by putting the male on the line against the danger. We humans can try to overcome anything with technology, social norms, traditions etc. - but at current state that's counterproductive. Until babies are truly "made in some machine" it is pointless to argue about evolution NOT affecting the perceived difference of value of females and males in a large society as a whole. This does not say it must be only this way, but just acknowledging that even current day social norms are influenced by deeper evolution traits.

I have only now been exposed to your podcasts and find your comments as well as your thinking in general to be very honest and discerning, which makes me think you would be easily comforted in reading my as yet unpublished Book entitled, "Her-Story" vs. "His-Tory." It's only 95 pages and can be easily emailed to you. Here's an excerpt: Is “He” the Pre-Eminent Face of Creation’s Legacy? That is what “His-story” has told us over perhaps countless Millenia. Whether it is true or not, it would seem prudent to intuitively investigate an alternative, “Her-story,” or even perhaps “Their-Story,” to gain a proper perspective as to “what could have been or should be or what actually is”! (Did our Saxon ancestors get it right by referring to the term “Mankind” as Woman?) How would modern “evolutionists” describe the ascendancy of female persuasion in today’s civilized societies around the world? The civilized world has had no choice but to intellectually accept what Nature has been hinting at for those countless millennia! “And Adam called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living.” - (Was that statement Man’s first and only inspired expression of thought, after recognizing the naturally inherent female capacity to birth, nourish, and nurture Life’s Progeny?) Does the Bible, or any “Holy-Book,” accurately depict the creation and evolution of the Universe including the Idea of MAN’s presumptuous entitlement of “pre-eminence”? Moments of questionable inspiration must have motivated any number of scribes to implant a meaningful inscription for posterity to contemplate and actively engage as a directive toward a benevolent enterprise. Certainly, we all have found ourselves motivated into profitable action by the inspiration elicited by thoughts, words, or examples of enlightened others whose compelling experiences have been proven at least sporadically successful for themselves, yet not for the hopeful. The Bible and all other reference Books on Life’s Spiritual Origination and subsequent Physical reality, to which most “Soul-Searching” individuals, families, and communities have been indoctrinated, seemed, over innumerable centuries, to have inspired then motivated separate and collective action that could, in many ways, be construed as both beneficial and/or deleterious to individual, collective, or universal well-being. An innate sense of “manifest-destiny,” taking impetus from an equally inherent but spiritually abhorrent mortal prescription for material prosperity in its “survival of the fittest”- mentality, catered to a suppositional prerogative of “divine-intervention” to validate the various outcomes of warfare in territorial pursuits of Man’s dominion over the Earth and “his” subjugated minorities, including women.

I don't think men are nearly as disposable as you profess. Without adequate numbers of men, how much construction, energy, food production and protection would society have? One man would be very hard pressed to protect and sustain ten women and all their offspring all by himself. There have been historical cases where women all went on strike and hardly anyone noticed. By contrast, we have seen instances when men went on strike and whole systems went into complete collapse.

Both situation can be true together. You are describing complex civilisation, that needs a highly skilled professionals to cooperate for everything to keep working smoothly. Same effect as you describe is by not having "adequate numbers of men" but "adequate numbers of men or women in any specialization, even that the rest is having adequate numbers" - it would still create immediate problems or long-term collapse. Civilisations collapsed many times but the "more disposable men thinking" is even more ancient, when we were small tribes, even before we could talk about Homo Sapiens and caves and fire....wired in the brain in the same way that is wired for you to "crouch, shoulders up and stiffen the neck" when something scary sounds behind you - we were for too long hunted by jumping cats from the tree that you are still hardwired by evolution pressure to at least try to make it more complicated for them.. those without the reflex were simply easier target and died off in the Darwin game. Similarly, tribes that would try to use males and females in same dangers (not protect the females like any social mammal) and suffer similar ratios of losses equally, would die off in the long term. The brain structures are still there, for example there is very different behavior of soldiers when female is injured in the army , even that in the battle everyone basically become "equally worthless".. it just more uncovers the basic instincts.

The therapy industry is dominantly occupied by women but men need other men or the rare woman who properly understands mens needs in order to be effective. psychacks and healthygamergg are both channels that have addressed this. It isn't that men don't care about their mental health it is that they don't feel it is cared about properly in general and don't see the conventional methods as being the right path for them. Its not, its the most presumed thing and its the easiest answer to go to IMO. I mean really, nothing to do with socialized roles, the offshoots of a patriachal system, the fact that we arent empowered enough to break out of our moulds. Anyways, i dont normally commment on these videos, i was just suprised.

Yeah I don't believe for a second that day care and kindergarten are mostly run by women because they're naturally better at it. I think for a lot of those positions they won't hire men because the parents would revolt.

I thought the same. Women are asking to break out of traditional roles. He uses the fact that a lot of woman are doing these roles are evidence that they’re good at it so keep them there. No. It’s just evidence of the roles they’re being held in. We’re saying we want out! So who is he to say we should keep doing it because he benefits from it and it raises him up?!

@alexbishop84
@alexbishop84 2 ай бұрын
@@weareallamericans7358No and that’s the issue. Women are doing these roles because men aren’t stepping up to do them. Men like in this podcast are suggesting women should stay there because it helps them do better and go off and be a provider. Women are saying they want to do that, but that would require men sharing the childcare more. And they don’t want to.

It goes both ways. Men are seen. Men are heard. Rarely when a women is a victim do people actually support her. I don't see that in reality. Look at victim shaming.

Sorry, that's not how it is. The reality is that men are rarely acknowledged as victims when they're victimized. A 15 year old boy can (and has) be the victim of SA from a 34 year old woman, said women gets pregnant, and the 15 year old boy is then forced to pay for child support. If men are so seen/heard, then surely it would have been impossible for this 34 year old woman to get away with anything, let alone child support from her victim.

Ah yes, that's why there are 1000s of men's domestic violence shelters and none for women, despite the number of victims being roughly equal. Oh, wait.

1:12 I’m sorry?! You’ve been dealt a bad hand compared to the previous generations when men were in charge?! That’s like saying white people have been dealt a bad hand compared to previous generations where they had slaves. Removing unjustifiable inequality is not being dealt a ‘bad hand’. While older men have enjoyed all the privileges, younger men today are punished for it. And that is the problem. We are raising generations that are bitter, resentful, and lost, and ultimately voting for Trump.

@@drazenkasvedruzic3849 no Young men are punished for older me privileges. They are confronted with a more balanced social structure. There are women in the armed forces, fire departments and so on so forth. Dominant traits are learned from generation to generation. We don’t teach men that courage and strength isn’t aggressive behavior. Teach men to respect women not as equals but equally worth respect and capable of doing any tasks. The problem we have with gender roles and that we limit what these roles are and make it wrong for a men to be a care taker with children or family home. There is a lot of nuances lost here. The pendulum has to swing over but it will self correct if we educate young men to be respectful and honorable, same with young women.
