This is why rebuilt vehicles get a bad name and it keeps getting worse

After the review of the hacked up Detroit Terrain, I was asked to show how the repairs were wrong and how they could be fixed. Well, that Terrain was not worth buying but I found a hacked up one that was. It appears the last accident was very similar to this one which is a good thing. Now I only have to fix one part of the car to redo their shoddy workmanship. In addition to being ugly, the work is not safe at all. I am ok with cosmetic issues in rebuilds but safety and reliability should not be sacrificed for savings. The further I dig into this one, the worse it gets. I can't wait to find out what the body filler is hiding.

i think you could sue the person who rebuilt the car. I repair cars to sell like this and everything has to be as close to factory as possible before i sell it, i know of a business that went under for doing crappy repair jobs, selling cars with cut frames and stuff. I enjoy your videos so much and see what to look for damage. I wish more body shops here in Georgia had your work ethic and attention to detail. Some body shops, that did good work, they got tired of dealing with insurance companies that nickel and dimed repair jobs, so they closed up. No you have body shops that are the "preferred" repair center. I have seen first hand how they do work. I could see sanding marks through the paint, runs, cloudy look to paint and after a few years the clear coat pealing from the window seal. They have a "lifetime warranty" on their repairs, so wondering how that will work. The insurance companies want repairs cheap so seems to be aftermarket parts find their way in the mix. I would rather have used OEM parts, properly repaired and painted like you use than some of aftermarket ones.

Hi. Very professional attitude to repair and satisfaction in selling on a safe vehicle.

It looks like that "repair" was done in the backyard of someone who thinks that if he has the tools, he must be a mechanic.

This rebuild induces truly epic levels of torpor. I couldn't even bring myself to fast forward to get to the end. No, I had to watch each miserable bolt and sorry connector come off one at a time. Scuttling gnomes dart in and out of the frame, narrowly avoiding being struck by random pieces Scott launches toward the piles. And even Mr. Spotty was too bored to show up for this job. Exquisite.

Holy crap! That thing was a rolling death trap. Hard to believe someone could do work that shoddy and let it leave their shop. Must’ve been done by the previous owners cousin who is a TV repairman and has an awesome set of tools!

Really like the look of your yellow tint safety glasses. I have a similar pair that has a lighter blue tint. Tune in next week when we'll hear our intrepid hero say "somebody's been here before".
