There is me avoiding paths like the plague for the last 10 years, although once I did find a 17th century ceremonial sword on a path below a church. Might get back in them now.

Wonderful day out! You are absolutely right about the old pathways. Fascinated by the lead object, might it be a seal of some kind?

What amazing finds. I gotta find me some old trading paths over here in Canada. There has to be lots of old trading routes. I hope you will let us know what that lead token is after it has been in the ultrasound cleaner? Will the Nox work if you are charging it? Strap a Power Bank to the arm cuff and charge on the go.

It is just so mind-blowing to me and makes me a little jealous to be honest, that you guys are able to find coins that are older than my country! I really wish we had that kind of history here, that could be found with metal detectors anyway.
@ancheno71672 жыл бұрын
If you are from USA, your country is actually older than 1492.
@micah06v82 жыл бұрын
@@ancheno7167 Which is why I specified with metal detectors... Indigenous people in the US weren't using metal prior to the arrival of Europeans...

I would love to find a 400 year old coin! Can you imagine?!
@feldgeist26372 жыл бұрын
@@micah06v8 isn't theoretically possible to find old objects made from hammered natural copper or some strange imports from the south in their old settlements or consegration sites ? chances might be super low, but at least in theory and at the right spot.....

Awesome hunt! Thought the second hammy was an edward, i find quite a lot on my local permission! that first hammered cleaned up beautifully!! I've recently started looking at a church on my permission and working out the likely route that locals used to take to get to it across my fields. No defined footpaths but i've found some good bits and pieces from areas I suspect people used to walk along.

Fantastic permission. Good effort. I think those of us who appreciate the history over the value will always get a buzz out of finding a hammered coin... Also, do you remember a couple of videos ago I said I had only ever found one Roman coin, I only went & found myself a silver Denarius last Sunday! Hadrian... Little stonker it is too. I'll send you some photos. 💪

Great video!...You don't have to rub the coin with the tinfoil....You can wrap it in the foil with the shiny side around the coil after you spit into it....Less chance of damage. Smells bad!
