Honestly this shouldn't be done at home, that's the biggest thing. It's basically a medical procedure meaning you should be in a sterile environment with sterile equipment and gloves. Plus the trained professionals know how hard to press so as to not damage the skin as many people do unknowingly.

@@MrMrskay88 best if you use a special derma plane razor made for shaving female face. Read up on how to do it. Can find derma plane razors at Walmart, Target, and Ulta beauty store. Shaving your hair doesn't make it grow thicker, it's just that the angle of the shave makes it appear thicker, kinda like a point turning into a square so it shouldn't be a stigma for women
@PersianPowergirl
@PersianPowergirl 2 жыл бұрын
So if it "appears" or "feels" thicker to the touch, that's a battle lost anyway, isn't it. The point being, you don't want to feel pokey or thick hair. Regardless if it really is thicker or just "feels" thicker.

@@PersianPowergirl this can be avoided by shaving with the grain, but most people shave against it. Like petting a dog the wrong way. Hi Doctor Youn, I absolutely love your videos! I wanted to say though that dermaplaning doesn’t work for everyone - I tried it, and as a person with very sensitive skin I had an awful reaction and ended up with severe folliculitis! Just wanted to give a heads up to other people with sensitive and reactive skin - all my friends love dermaplaning but for me it ended up with antibiotics and a year of healing my skin barrier and scars.

"what happens when women shave their face" Does something different happen if a man shaves his face or something 😂
@ghostratsarah
@ghostratsarah 2 жыл бұрын
Men shave their faces primarily for cosmetic reasons. When you think of man shaving, you think of stubble prevention. For women, the vast majority only have unnoticeable peach fuzz, so there is no obvious cosmetic benefit- it is not a socially expected thing for most women to shave their faces. This video is basically a PSA aimed at women to advise them on a benefit they likely have never heard of and destigmatize the act of face shaving for the women who do shave for cosmetic reasons. Of course men can reap the same benefits, it's just that this video is aimed at educating women on the fact that face shaving is not intrinsically masculine.

if ipl mean that laser light treatment, always pro! The at home kits are not strong enough. Plus I think you can risk scarring. You do have to go a few times for a few months. It did work, but I didn’t go enough, so my stache grew back (but much lighter). But the chin hairs did not, I only went 2x. But it’s not worth it unless you plan to go a few times. My sister went and had to go less and less. Then it became like 1x every 6 months to a year just for touch up. It doesn’t read very light blond hairs though as I was told. But you have to find a good place, some don’t use strong enough ipl and charge way too much.

I guess that's why it said to shave in the same direction as the hair grows, not the opposite
@ghostratsarah
@ghostratsarah 2 жыл бұрын
That's why you always shave WITH the grain, not against it. There shouldn't be any resistance when the blade passes over. Shaving in the direction you hair grows will ensure you only take off what is above the skin. Shaving against your hair is kinda like lifting up a skin fold to wash, you're lifting the hair part way out of your skin. Just like how putting down a skin fold covers up the skin under the fold, the, now sharp, end of the hair will go back under your skin. And from their it can get confused and grow sideways instead of back up and out of your pore. If shaving with the grain doesn't take off hair, you need a better razor. You also need to exfoliate. If you don't, you can't get a close shave because of the dead skin and grime getting between the root and razor, and it will be an extra hurdle for a hair to become lost in while trying to grow back. It can't find the hole to come up through.
@babygirldino3901

Nothing is wrong with it, it's just info for if someone has been considering it. It can help with heavy makeup application and with the cleanup, cleansing and skin care that come with that sort of routine. Biggest drawback is if you are sensitive to sensory things because the hair takes a while to get back to what you've been used to and it can be super irritating to feel the blunt ends of newly sprouted baby hairs compared to the softness of grown out and tapered down hair.

Shaving stimulates the hair follicles and causes more hair to grow. So while the hair might not grow back thicker you might get new coarse hairs popping up because you over stimulated your hair follicles. I only know because I go to an electrolysis and she explained that if nothing hormonal or genetically was causing hair growth then overstumulation was the cause of my hair growth. If you want to get rid of hair permanently, go see an electrolysis. I've been going for 4 months and my facial hair situation has gotten much better. Downside to electrolysis is it takes about a year or so to fully kill the hair follicle because of the hair cycle.

This is bullshit. Anyone with half sense knows that the hair doesn’t come back right; short and fluffy like normal. You can get acne and sensitive skin can get very very broken and red from it. On top of that hair grows back rough, and stiff. Taking away the short fluffy hair has your body grow them back with more pigment and thicker in the hopes that the hair can withstand whatever it was that removed them in the first place - and that’s from an evolutionary perspective, the hair grows for a reason. If something is removing them from the surface your body is going to adapt and make them stronger and thicker to withstand whatever outside conditions happens to be removing them. Your body doesn’t know you’re doing it on purpose. All I’m saying is take care, it works for some but everyone I know in real life, it’s worked out badly for them.

I shave! I have to use a good men’s razor to shave mine. I do it because my whole face is covered in peach fuzz and my foundation looks bad on top of it. I’ve never grown back thicker or darker hair. It makes my skin feel softer too.

*just remember to use proper shaving and aftercare products* women that have breakout acne is almost always caused by them shaving dry and then slapping an events worth of makeup on top x.x i have very oily breakouty skin. But i do it right and give my skin some time(hours+moisturizer) to rest before i put makeup on. And i wash it off *immediately* after

I shave my face from time to time, it exfoliates soooo good. I like to do that and also steam my face and do a lovely face mask and then on with moisturiser. My face loves it. But I NEVER do it while I have acne or I do it only where I don’t have acne. Also I like to fix my eyebrows at the same time

I get that it doesn’t work for most people, but truly most people don’t know what they’re doing when they try it and will just take an eyebrow razor to their dry skin and then wonder why their skin has become irritated and rashy… Please use a real facial razor and a shaving cream or even a face wash to reduce the friction completely and you won’t encounter the “rash” problem lol

Disagree. I have been a waxer for 25 years and have seen first hand how shaving can make hair thicker and coarser whilst waxing makes it thinner and sparser. Even just one shave between waxes sets you back.

Here's MY solution for all who have SENSITIVE skin and who dont have time to spare. I have sensitive skin with hyperpigmentation. I use VEET hair which is an international hair removing creme which has one for SENSITIVE skins. Use what your country has available to you if its not available in your land. Simply apply to your face EXCEPT on ACNIED, ECZEMA or ANY current inflammatory or ALLERGY prone skin being treated. Apply a thin layer on damp skin, wait THREE to FIVE minutes, GENTLY WIPE OFF with a WET face towel rinsed and wrung in COLD water to COOL the skin. Your skin should'nt burn or sting at all unless you have very dry skin in which case you should not use any depilatory cremes, retin A, AHAs or any skin treatment products. WIPE your skin gently. LOOK HOW CLEAN AND SMOOTH the skin is, like GLASS SKIN. I think this glass skin story of using expensive skin treatments is a fraud. Glass skin can be EASILY achieved by simple inexpensive cremes. No need to go for expensive derma planning. Once all the hair is off, apply a GENTLE face creme or massage with a good face oil. Does that not look like glass skin? XTRA VIRGIN Olive oil is good even Vaseline original. Look! You now have glass skin.😊 Tommorow you skin will look super HYDRATED when upu wake up. The skin does glow immediately after hair removal, Use a non- alcoholic toner followed with an oil or your regular face or a soft hydrating body creme. The hair does NOT grow back thick or dark. You wont even notice the growth as the growth blends against your skin. The only women who will have chin spikes are women in menopause or postmenopause. That is cos your hormones are now imbalanced. REMEMBER, YOU ALREADY HAD SPIKY hairgrowth BEFORE you used a hair removing creme for your face. Lets not deny that. Now for those with hyperpigmentation, acanthosis around the lip area, REMEMBER to ALWAYS USE A HIGH SUNSCREEN EVERYDAY like SPF 50 or 100 hyperpigmented skin. DO NOT USE hair removal cremes if you have ACANTHOSIS around your mouth. It will become darker cos that area is sensitive! My pigmentation appears almost unnoticeable because I use NIACIN skin products in conjunction with niacin tablets recommended by a specialist intergrative practitioner. My pigmentation, acne on the chin and face is a distant memory. The hyperpigmentation is super light, my face is radiant, soft, YOUTHFUL, SMOOTH and completely WRINKLE free. I kid you not folks, people think I'm 27, I'm 52. My hair is a lions mane, my face, neck and decolette is without fat, looks ultra smooth and sculptured. I massage my face regularly, eat sensibly, dont shy away from treats, exercise a few times walking long distance in THE MALL😊, this balances my mind, body and soul cos I do what I like which makes me feel satified and happy. TRY it! You WONT BE SORRY😊
