Sometimes you nail the target on a stick throw, and most of those then catch the stick or at least come out unscathed... In some rare occasions like this one, they're completely oblivious of any travelling projectiles coming from the stage 😅
Here's my full apology/disclaimer:
"To the lady in the bright jacket,
I'm extremely sorry for hitting you in the face with my rough rim-shot beaten up drum stick, but you were giving me a pretty solid indication that you would have liked to catch this particular drum stick.
However, after seeing absolutely no reaction from you what so ever when the stick was within catching distance, I discovered that in actual fact, you had absolutely no desire to attain ANY drum stick and/or potentially also had no idea I or my drum stick even existed...
Also, if the gentleman in front of you had better hand-eye coordination, you would have had a much more pleasant evening.
Yours truly, the drummer 😘"
😅😂
*This is the last bit of GoPro footage I want to share on KZbin while I was on tour with The Amity Affliction in December of 2017. This was the last show of our European tour in London at the O2 Forum Kentish Town 🇬🇧 🤘🏻 Song is This Could Be Heartbreak.
STAY SAFE AND PAY ATTENTION TO THE DRUMMER AT ALL TIMES!!!!

I'll never forget watching Slipknot open the 2nd stage at Ozzfest in '99. One of the extra percussionists took one of their big ass marching sticks and fired it into the crowd full force. I watched it slam into some poor bastard's head and bounce another 75 feet into someone else. It was like skipping rocks in the ocean.

Yes, I don’t understand why some drummers are thinking that this would be cool. You can really hurt someone when you hit them hard. It’s absolutely not necessary.

@@lanishareinhardt8570 how is it that you know so much about what is necessary and it is not necessary. For the last 8 years of my touring career I would sit up front and sideways due to being the lead singer as well as the drummer. Tossing out sticks into the crowd was a nightly occurrence. People ask for it they're going to get it. However there is a difference between throwing it and tossing it. Good luck to you and all your future endeavors
@lanishareinhardt8570

@@BobbyJetty1502 Thanks. As for the „Throwing vs. Tossing“ part, I’m not an English native so I don’t know what term is used to differentiate language wise one from another, in my native language we just have one word for it, but I try to add terms to show a difference in the examples below. Of course I didn’t know that you’re sitting near to the front and instead was speaking about the common scenario. Necessary vs. Unnecessary. Compare both Situations and wonder for yourself. Before I start a side Note: In some countries (as far as I know only US) drummers were getting sued by fans they accidentally hit, a famous example was Todd Sucherman. And unless you are pretty rich, you’d definitely want to avoid a potential lawsuit and also it’s better for the conscience if you were responsible doing it even if you hit someone. Situation 1: The drummer has his riser classically on the back of the stage, the stage is already 2-5 meters away from the audience when standing on the Edge of the Stage, even more far from the riser. But the drummer on this example decides to throw the sticks from the riser between songs or while playing. No one in the audience sees it coming, they don’t expect it already and because it’s a huge distance the drummer has to throw very hard to reach the audience. If someone gets hit, it looks like in the Video, it’s a really hard hit. Situation 2: Classicel situation as well, drummer sits on the back of the stage. After the concert is over, he takes bows with his bandmates and has brought some sticks to the front. Now after the bows are over, he makes eye contact with someone maybe points on someone and throws his sticks gently with just enough impact that the selected fans can catch it, they can see it coming and even if he accidentally hits them, it would only be a soft to mild hit. Long Story short: The more far away someone from the audience is, the harder he has to throw.

Tossed my stick into the crowd at the Viper Room on Dennis Rodman’s birthday show and dude didn’t quite catch it hit his front tooth and chipped it in half. Yes I know it’s a small club but this girl was yelling give me a stick, so Mr. Douche bag jumped in front of her received instant karma, then it’s “I’m going to f’ing sue you, don’t you know who I am” so unless you’re a rock god, don’t throw your sticks. @@lanishareinhardt8570 if there was no drummer there would be no rhythm and many drummers do more than just drum. @@BobbyJetty1502 damn man, first of all I’m a drummer myself and secondly there is no need to get rude. What I meant was, that you don’t need to be very famous to toss your sticks into the crowd, if your band plays at crowded festivals or city feasts then I don’t see why you shouldn’t go for it. But! You should make sure that the fans see it coming and by tossing sticks in a way that isn’t a 100% guarantee for hitting and injuring them.
