What an absolutely wild situation to be a part of! I'm glad you were able to get the majority of the line off that alligator while maintaining your own safety. Super cool that you were able to use the footage that I filmed and what a great example that no matter how scary the beast is we are still responsible for its health/safety in these situations. Great video Payton and I'm glad I could get out on the water with you!

Thank God for teamwork, I'd probably cut the line if I was alone with that dinosaur. Great video bro 😎

I do the same thing when I'm helping someone in a risky situation, I start speaking another language so no one knows how scared I really am.

When I was an early teenager I went to school at a private school that was across the street from a state owned wildlife pond and there was a small alligator in it. I caught a bluegill, smacked it off the water, casted it out, and it ate it. I reeled him all the way into shore and my buddy wrapped it's mouth with electrical tape, and threw it in his trunk for his dad (because he made wallets and little trinkets out of the skin and ate the meat). It wasn't anywhere NEAR as big as this one, but it was alot of fun to reel in.

I LOVE animals, but I can 100% admit I'd cut bait if I hooked something big enough to kill me. I haven't even started the vid but I'm betting u did something I wouldn't do in a real Robocop uniform. You're a brave man, my friend. God Bless and/or Safe fishing, buddy. Great video as always👍👍

Living in Florida, I've had a lot exposure to alligators and I had a lax attitude about safety. That is, until I watched a video of an elderly lady walking her dog near a retention pond. An alligator comes out to try to get the dog. She defends the dog and the alligator pulls her in and she dies while another lady is doing the filming and pretty much having a melt down. That video haunts me.

I have the biggest phobia of alligators, crocodiles, and anything that roamed the Earth millions of years ago. I knew how truly I am with this phobia when I watched Jurassic Park and had nightmares beginning that night. That's I live in Colorado and not where those creatures live!
@aquietsojourner468316 күн бұрын
I don't know if I'd call it a phobia when we have thousands of years of ingrained history of them (crocodilians in general) snatching us from river banks engraved upon our souls. 😂
@aquietsojourner468316 күн бұрын
Alligators particularly are generally super chill though, and spook easily. Most the time you won't even see them if you aren't careful and quiet, you just see the wake of them sliding into the water cause you spooked them. Granted, it depends on how heavily trafficked the area is. High traffic areas often have irresponsible disposal of food or fish carcasses or people feeding them directly, and it can alter their behavior toward people. Even when they aren't fed, over-exposure to humans can make them less fearful of humans. But putting yourself in a position to actually encounter one, like landing one or trying to catch it by hand will definitely have you going toe to toe with a dangerous pissed off dinosaur. lol.

I lived in Denver over twenty years ago and we had a Caiman that was "spotted" in one of the ponds in town. They drained most of the pond and finally the kids who reported it said they were just joking around I had fished that pond for years and had seen people hook Piranhas in the pond. They probably died when the pond froze but maybe not. This was Washington Park

Dude you should invest in some small agile type snow shoes so you don't sink in the mud when you're in situations like this. You sink in that mud and get stuck in the suction and that thing comes at you you're a goner for sure.
