This Italian Film is a Weird, Dark and Beautiful Masterpiece (BBC 83)

La Strada (1953) is an Italian Masterpiece by Federico Fellini. The BBC ranks it as the 83rd greatest foreign language film of all time however I would personally rank it much higher as it is the best film that I have reviewed on the list so far.
It tells the story of a simple-minded young girl who is sold to a travelling showman and made to perform in a circus. The Showman, Zampano, is a lonely, angry and heavy drinking man. This story is about two people alone in the world in difficult conditions and how they attempt to survive together.
