LionSteel is always classy. Those flat pocket clips need to become more ubiquitous. The flat profile eliminates hot spots. I appreciate that. Italians make some truly quality products.

Really digging that fixed blade, regardless of the take-down gimmick.

I have around 10-12 fixed blades from lion steel and they are all extremely well made. Not quite Bark River or Fallkniven quality as far as heat test and blade grind of course, convex is best after all. They make some of the very best fixed blades especially for the price. They have done a few convex, even a frame lock folder, that I regret selling, I might buy another one. I think ya the sr-11, I believe, aluminum or titanium integral frame lock with a overtravel stop that you can screw done to make it like a fixed blade. They do amazing with sleipner steel and it’s a true zero convex. I’ve battoned with it, made sweet and sexy feather sticks lol.

How is that a gimmick? Looks like a useful feature.

I love that DCA just went to Makers' booths and showed the knives himself!!

Those one piece scale fixed blades are beautiful.

I love that fix! Finally something interesting with a good steel, good looking, good size... I hope that they would`t fk it up with the pricing

Please give us the hrc, especially on Italian knives, I love Italian knives but I’ve had some very disappointing m390 and elmax from them. A super steel isn’t super if it’s not heat treated properly.

I’ve not had any problem with any of the Lion Steel knives I have and the M390 steel.

Sono italiano e posso confermare. Abbiamo dei coltelli bellissimi, ma riguardo al trattamento termico non valgono il prezzo che costano. 😔
@SweetTooth8989Күн бұрын
Totally agree. I love the Italian designs but they run their steels too soft especially on a super steel it really robs it of its potential.

did you run some tests?

I was sold on that Acha when you said Magnacut, but m390, eh, plus I’m wondering how that handle will hold up when used hard, like chopping or batoning.
@blackhogarth4049Күн бұрын
Yes. I was wondering the same thing. It's not gonna be as durable as a full tang.
@bobarends6324Күн бұрын
Got a t6 and impressed with it. Also looking around for a t5 with kydex sheat. That Acha is also good looking, but I would thinks twice about hard using/batoning with it. Feels like they came up with an unnecessary solution while creating a (bigger) problem. Curious to see what this will do in future tests.

I’ve heard you guys talk about Damascus from damasteel, Chad nichols, another company like Tennessee Damascus, as well as some others. How would you rank them as far as toughness and edge retention?

Why would i want to break down my fixed blade? A normal Lion Steel fixed blade has such minimal tolerances that no serious grime can get in any cracks. This design has a rat-tail tang and screw mechanism that is prone to becoming loose over time.
@ethanrosen739720 сағат бұрын
Breaking down a fix blade had got to be one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen. They took a design that by nature can have no moving parts, and can have all solid construction, and what did they do? Oh yes, give it moving parts and take away any solid construction so that you can clean your knife that shouldn’t have ever needed cleaning because it could’ve been one piece in the first place
@mikepalma808339 минут бұрын
Take down fixed blades have been around for a long time. It's not new. I personally am not a fan of that, though. Agree with the moving parts factor. More of a hunting knife I would say
@Jezus42Күн бұрын
😂 and how much they want for a rat tail "outdoor" knife. It's 2025
@chrisjosekuehlКүн бұрын
That wasn’t a rat tail, that would be considered full tang, a rat tail is a single steel rod like a the military knife everyone loves but nobody uses lol. That was a a sold piece of steel that is as thick as the blade stock. Like a lot of full tang fixed blades with hidden tangs. I do wonder if that micarta will come loose when I baton with it.
@chrisjosekuehlКүн бұрын
You know you may be more correct. After watching it a few times I see that it’s like a half rat tang, on top of that the bottom piece is half the tang. I’ll be waiting to see someone else who can afford it to for the test that knife. Hopefully DBK will.
@Jezus42Күн бұрын
@chrisjosekuehl i know it's not a real rat tail but it's a moded rat tail. But my point stands. You know that knife is $200+
