I really enjoy how you show how to fix the oops moments in decorating. I know you really worked overtime on this one, with the other kake on your mind. It is just adorable, he is so stinking cute . You always say your better at 2D, but this design shows you rock them both.

I love when you show the real cake decorating process and how things can go wrong and how to fix them. Your judgment was spot on with removing the fondant stripes and using the impression mat. Love the buttercream fur. I've only seen fur made by covering the object in fondant and taking a small star tip and twisting it in the fondant. To make fur. Thank you for sharing and keep on caking 💜

I love the koala! I know you dont like to do 3d decorations and I struggle with them as well. But I will definitely be trying the buttercream "fur" technique. So smart and seems like a much more approachable technique than covering a 3d figure with fondant! Thanks for sharing your talent and knowledge!

@KarolynsKakes Жыл бұрын
You're welcome my dear! Yes, I like to send a picture the evening before pickup. I've spelled names wrong and made other mistakes and that gives me time to fix it. It doesn't happen a lot, but I like to have the time to change it if needed. And I find that a lot of customers want to see it when I finish!

Your fondant colors are so perfect! Do you just use Americolor gels? Or do you customize your colors. If, you do customize your colors any tips?
@KarolynsKakes Жыл бұрын
I always do a little mixture of colors to get the right hue. I mainly use Americolor, but also use Wilton, Sugarflair, Chefmaster. The light green is a little leaf green and a little golden yellow. The dark green is leaf green mixed with a little yellow and a little black. The brown is Chefmaster Buckeye brown with a teeny bit of green to cancel the pink hue in the brown. The grey is super black with a teeny bit of gold to cancel out the purple hue. I hope that helps!
