Jerry was such a treasure. Yes, he could have lived longer with a true commitment to healthy living, but he lived on his own (unhealthy) terms and he would not be told what to do. There is a beauty in that.

Two of my favorite bands. Saw Los Lobos open for and play with the Dead at Laguna Seca. Glad to see that collaboration was also happening on the other coast.

Just needed a half-good mix. Would have been 100% better. Jerry was right to point out the ‘monitor’ situation during setup

FUCK yeah Los Lobos,lets not forget who helped Jerry relearn to play guitar after his stroke. Let freedom ring a ding ding folks!!!
@christhorkildsen32672 жыл бұрын
Jerry did not have a stroke. He was in a diabetic coma....and the main person who helped him recover was Merl Saunders.
@christhorkildsen32672 жыл бұрын
I really should say the main person who helped him regain his musical chops was Merl. All deadheads helped him recover!

David Hidalgo??
@dreamkane2 жыл бұрын
Merl was the main person, but Jerry played with Los Lobos a bunch while he was recovering. He even played out with them once or maybe twice in Marin before coming back with the Dead or JGB

Anybody know what the backstory is here? They're in Massachusetts, i assume Los Lobos was opening for GD. Why are they outdide in the daytime playing off the wall covers? Was this a TV spot or something? Very cool footage at any rate. Thanks for posting this!
