@alorrick75468 ай бұрын
fun note LSx engines do not have an issue with oiling, not one problem at all. ITS HAS to do with the geomatry of the oil pan for 911 swaps and the way the car moves and leans makes the oil go the opposite of what anything "conventional" would use. so an accusump stops the oil starvation because of "unable oil pan design" and sadly packaging. because in the 944 we hold more G's than a 911 and hotter lap times with a standard sump engines, corvettes too and sadly it really boils down to pan design and baffling which the 911 conversion pans jsut simply have not.

I think every single 996 tiptronic base 911 should be used as a hot rod platform for LS based V8s / GM V8s . I drove a base 996 911 auto when they were new and it was the most dissapointing car I ever drove . So underpowered feeling and boring . But they are still 911s with some potential . The 996 TURBO was awesome . Yes , it had the cheap feeling ugly interior that lost its way but at the time it was a monster street car for turn key usable acceleration with the level of traction. Considering how hated the base 996 is and the headlights treated like some kind of birth defect that somehow destroys its look for the classic shape and how awfully underpowered they were and the tiptronic Making it feel like a 6 cyl camary when accelerating . The whole throw out bearing thing and general cost of fixing cars that suck and the ability to fit a more classic front clip with round headlights instead of the fried eggs that people are so disgusted by which Is the tiniest of problems with them as cars but unloved they seem the perfect platform to hack up and be re purposed and given some dignity by giving them some performance with a great V8 .

Or just a love for a car that you want to make even better? I say why not. At the end of the day it's *your* car and there's no reason to appease to anyone else who prefers just another 911 with less power and significantly less grip. It has nothing to do with ego and everything to do with personal passion. And I can tell you that this car gets me *far* more intrigued than another stock 911, especially as there was no skimping out on the build. If it were just another stock classic 911 being driven around, I probably wouldn't have clicked on the video. Seen it many, many times before. And that's coming from a fan of 911's.
