As an artist myself, the fact that an _illustrator_ of all people tried to mock him on Twitter for helping animators just ticks me off. This may seem like an unfair comparison, but I feel like animators go through a lot more trouble than illustrators relatively speaking. It's just so arrogant of him to speak like that.

I know it is silly to feel down about this, but it makes me really sad sometimes how little respect artists get.. even from other artists in this case. I just wish people were generally nicer and artists had a less rough time, but i know that wish is naive. I also realize it comes down to simple ignorance to the other person's condition as well but still people could afford to be less ugly in the way they behave.

Growing up, me and my father didn’t have the best relationship. It was almost impossible for us to get along (mostly my fault). However, we both had a love for anime at the time Naruto Shippuden was our favorite. So once a week me and father would sit together and watch the weekly episode and for 20-30 minutes, me and my dad would have our little father and son moment. Today, I look back and smile because even with our issues at the time anime always brought us together. Thank you so much animators you are highly appreciated! I hope the current situation changes for y’all.

And for me personally I feel like they just need to be more open and more out there and keep showing off their you know talented and creative abilities and I think people do it because they love to tell a story and i feel like others don't really get as much money as they should for their hard work.❤💙💜🇯🇵

So inspirational and A great way to raise awareness and create A change in the anime industry because honestly anime is very entertaining and just the fact that those people have that skill and ability to produce these wonderful images to display for our entertainment they should be shown some level of sincerity and care as workers and offered the best available to account for their needs like proper pay etc to enjoy themselves and be appreciated properly because let's face the fact that if one sudden day all future animators in the making decide that they can't hold on anymore and continue through all their struggles and the animators present at that time either are a Small amount the industries would lead to chaos and slow sales low revenue etc. So I'm glad for this video very enlightening great job on this interview and anime is just delightful in every way thumbs up if you agree guys!

There needs to be some sort of Animation Studio Royalty Fee. Remember, it's not the animation studios you should be angry at, but the association committee and broadcasting companies. They both play dirty tricks and dealings between each other, while the talented animation studios often get shafted. For this to change, we somehow have to remove the gatekeepers and middlemen, who hold entry power over animation studios. And partly make sure laws are enacted which means highly successful shows' profit has a significant cut going to the animation studio itself and it's employees, by law. In other words, royalty fees, should be enacted in law, whether big or small, anything to drive growth for successful anime series' creators, the studios themselves.

This is ridiculous how lowly they are paid! I'm a huge fan of Anime and have been for over 30 year's, the animator's need to come together and fight for their rights and try get this issue recognized on a national level, I just want the animator's to know that when I buy an anime series I do it because of all the hardwork that has gone into making that Anime, also I would love to see such companies that have top voice talent studios such as Sentai Filmworks, FUNimation studios maybe create they're own animation studios and help these struggling animator's by bring them abroad and have them paid very well for what they do, I mean if the studios in Japan aren't going to pay them well then I believe the companies above could snag that talent and bring it to them away from Japan, it would help bridge the gap for the animator's and the studios all over the world and allow those struggling animator's to have a decent contract with the studio's to make a decent living wage and bring home a good paycheck, they work really hard to entertain us all and they deserve to be paid the most!

Thank you for uploading and giving those insights. Most animators are fine with low wages since they do not do it for fame or money. They simply animate because it's their passion. Animators just want to learn and grow, while providing some content for others to enjoy. These very few seconds that can express emotions and feelings are a very deep look into their minds. Please consider that some of these animators worked for a month to provide you these 30 seconds that you see on screen. Hopefully the industry does change and the salarys become more human.

My solution to this problem would be to have all the animators strike. Without them, none of the work gets done. They have tremendous power but they accept the pay they are given. Stop production on 18 billion dollars and companies will come to the bargaining table real quick. The main problem with a strike would be outsourcing. There would need to be heavy tariffs on overseas work so that companies would be encouraged to hire locally. Either way, I'll donate to the crowd fund.

If they go on strike for better wages don’t blame the the ones who create the best animation and series it’s because of their talent and creativity we wouldn’t have the animation in the late 80’s and now. Blame the higher ups who forgot where animation and anime comes from and the hard work and late hours they put in for their company they need better pay and better hours. I’ve watched anime from the Robotech to Re Zero they have great talent to come up with shows like that so they need our support keep up the great work and support of your co workers in this great field of animation. 👍

I was shocked to learn how little the animators make in Japan, far below minimum wage on an hourly basis. For reference, they make a small fraction of what a comparable animator would make for a large animation studio here in North America for more work. All corporations disproportionately allocate the economics between the executives and the lower-level workers, but Japanese animation studios take it to the extreme where the animators are barely paid a livable wage.

Many western children such as myself and many in my country (Israel), who were raised in the 1980's, mostly grew up on locally dubbed Japanese Animation shows such as 3000 Leagues in Search of Mother (maybe the most popular), The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Moomins, The Transformers, The Wonderful Adventures of Nils, Thundercats, Samurai Pizza Cats, Peter Pan, Little Mrs. Pepperpot, Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics and many more.

The problem is that these official streaming services aren't available in every country, such as the one I'm living in. Funimation isn't available, Crunchyroll's library is EXTREMELY small over here too and full of ads as well. Luckily the catalog is pretty hefty on Netflix and Prime Video so I watch what I can there, but everything else (especially ongoing anime) just isn't available to watch legally. I have to watch it on an illegal site, otherwise well...I might as well just stop watching anime altogether. Legal streaming services need to be available worldwide for this to stop. I'm up for paying and supporting the studios, just give me the opportunity to lol.

@Hardcore Nightcore Totally,us non-japanese anime fans are between a rock and a hard place. I want nothing more than to support the industry/animators, but even if we do, most of that money goes to the higher ups and not the animators anyways. At the same time, I can't lie that it's super nice being able to get manga and anime for free and accessible at any time. I just don't think we are in any position to complain about anime or manga getting delayed due to the virus. I also find it SUPER scummy that some people even advocate for animators being paid dirt.

It's unfair to sit back and pity them and do nothing while they financially suffer from this dumb issue, you could at least do things above.
