Great content, keep it up! One note: store-bought firewood is often dried by putting it in an oven - not so good for CO2. See if you can't find firewood which has been air-dried. That takes a lot longer (1/2 years, or even 4 years for certain types) but it's much better environementally! You would probably have to get out of the city or dry it yourself, but for me that's part of the fun of having a fireplace.

I didn't know that, thanks for the info! Here in Switzerland there are several places you can get firewood from farmers, I've seen several "for sale" signs when hiking through the woods. There's even a website online with several local sellers, I think I'll try it from there next time! www.brennholzkaufen.ch/

Man, i wish cars got smaller and more practical like 20 years ago.

Or even 40... I saw a (1970s I think?) Mini Cooper that was parked on the street the other day, and you could really notice the size difference between this and modern cars. Like the microtruck, the mini had no problem fitting into the street parking, while modern cars took up the entire width.

Im portuguese and like many others Im thinking of emigrating to Zurich. Having a degree in Software and computer engeneering and getting paid 1100 euros when a 1 bedroom apartment is exactly that much is not for me. Your videos have been really helpful. Thanks!

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed! I know that Zurich is especially popular to immigrate to just because of how much more you can make here compared to pretty much anywhere in Europe. It's actually not the reason I came here, but I know a lot of people that moved here because of the pay.

Thank you for making a video about the major elephant in everyones room which is how big and insanely sized new trucks and even cars are nowadays. Waste of space, money and manufacturing.

No problem, thanks for watching! There's a couple of mini coopers from the 70s in my neighborhood, and you can clearly see the size difference between them and modern cars, it's crazy

@@inductionpan The problem is that the EU demands all kind of safety features which makes modern cars bigger and heavier. If only we could have the old cars back with modern low polluting engine, that would be great.

I think that the trend started because more people started dying on the highways when cars started going faster. I think the trend is slowly coming back, but these smaller cars just don't go on the highways

I have a Goupil G3 here in the states. They no longer offer them here but man it is great. The bed also has a dump feature.
@inductionpan Жыл бұрын
Shame you can't buy them anymore there :( I saw that it has other types of beds as well, for example something that resembles a dump truck: www.goupil-ev.com/en/. This thing really is versatile.

I was in Montreal in July of this year, and I was pleasantly surprised to see an electric minitruck driving by with the logo of some business on it. I did not expect to see such a thing in Canada. It even had red turn signals, which was both good and bad; bad because red turn signals are stupid and should be abolished, but good because it was a sign that it was made specifically for the North American market.
@inductionpan Жыл бұрын
Crazy, the smallest trucks I've seen in the US is a kei truck. I wonder how big the market is? And are red turn signals exclusively North American? TIL
@user-74652 Жыл бұрын
@@inductionpan There are probably a few places besides the US and Canada that allow red turn signals, but from what I understand, they are forbidden in the vast majority of the world, including Europe, Japan, and Australia.

Great video, I own a Volkswagen Caddy van with 3200 liters/ 3.2 cubic meter / 113 cubic feet. That is way more then 1500 liter/ 1,5 cubic meter/ 52.8 cubic feet of the Ford F 150. But most trips I use my bike, sometimes with a 110 liter trailer, I think I can carry 2 boxes of fire wood. Maybe I need to split box 2 into the trailer and panniers. Sure it would take me 8 trips, but I love to cycle. And nothing beats a bike when it comes to costs.
@inductionpan Жыл бұрын
Wow, that's more dedication than I have with the bike 😂 I ride my bike enough during the week, so if I can use something like the microtruck for a trip like this, I will. Plus, I don't have an ebike, and in a city with hills like Zurich, I probably wouldn't be able to carry it up the hill if it were too heavy 😅 I'd imagine it would be way easier to do this somewhere flat though
@elisfsharri Жыл бұрын
It can't go on the highway or it can't carry your family but you don't have to own it (at least in Zurich). That's what makes it convenient.
@inductionpan Жыл бұрын
Exactly - you rent it for what you need. And if you need to go on the highway/carry your family, you can rent a bigger car for the occasion.

Love the video. The title? Not so much. Using "Twice As Small" is very cringeworthy especially when you mean "Half As Big". Yes, people now say similar comparisons but when you put it in a sentence along with "Twice As Spacious" really points out the error. The two statements are meant to be polar opposites. Anyways...... keep up the good work!!
@inductionpan Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! You're probably right, I didn't think about it like that. But I like how my title has the word "twice" two times in the title.

@@inductionpan Making it twice as dumb. :)
@wclark3196 Жыл бұрын
That was going to be my complaint. If you are comparing the size of one thing to another, it cannot be more than one times smaller, meaning it does not exist at all.

Why don't you put a heat pump in your house?
@inductionpan Жыл бұрын
It gets warm enough in the house already so I don't need one; the fireplace is mainly for the cozy vibes it brings in winter.
