I watched the original Japanese movie when I was 10, and it stuck with me for life. Now I live in Tokyo, and every time I’m walking home at night or sitting alone in my room, I always get that eerie feeling, where I look at my phone, and just wait for that “incoming call” text as well as the ringtone. It never happened ofc but it stuck with me from childhood.

Japan got a lot of amazing horror movies. Asian in general. Western especially American Horror movies are Boring
@DieNextInLINE2 жыл бұрын
I think a lot of people enjoy Asian horror a lot more because most American fans are gonna miss certain nuance in their acting. For instance, we can tell when an American actor hams it up or is extremely deadpan. Bad acting is a lot less noticeable to a foreign audience. Japan refuses to hold back when it comes to horror however. Junji Ito has proven that.

I grew up religious, and almost immediately upon abandoning it I lost all fear of horror movies. Not having a basis in spiritualism ruins the experience of most movies. That being said, the movie in the past 5 years that’s messed me up the most was The Taking of Deborah Logan. What a wild movie that was.
@moviemaker2011z Жыл бұрын
religion has nothing to do with being afraid of horror movies or not. i myself am very religious and they dont bother me at all anymore. as a kid sure but as an adult now i can watch just about anything and not be afraid of it. the trick i used was to remind myself that these are not real and cannot actually hurt me. growing up with that mentality was the thing that helped me get over the irrational fear of movies like halloween, friday the 13th, freddy kruger, jaws, and even the one that terrified me the most which was tooth fairy.

My name is Yoshikage Kira. I'm 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone.

I had a traumatic experience with this movie too. I remember visiting my family in Arizona and this movie was on DVD. My cousins loaded it into an Xbox 360 and I remember watching it using a blanket covering 70% of my vision. I don't really recall much of the movie, but the most scariest part was the tune playing in the main menu. It was around like 2 AM, I couldn't sleep and my cousins were completely knocked out. I had the tune playing for an hour straight before fear turned into frustration. Being the 8 year old I was, I just straight got out the bed and turned the Xbox off. I can easily remember the tune from the movie if I just simply think about it. Since that day, my fear of horror movies have faded away and I quite enjoy horror movies because I was able to get over my fear of horror in like an hour.

the movie that scared me the most as a child was a movie called tooth fairy, it was about how the tooth fairy killed children for their teeth and had returned to continue the killing spree, she attacked at night and had a bone chilling screech, the only upside was that she was weak to light so if you hid in a room with the lights on and could ensure they never went off you were safe. that movie is what made me afraid of the dark and her scream that you hear a lot during it is chilling to me, and to this day i still have a somewhat fear of the dark but that was from other movies also helping with that. Also i just never have felt safe at night and am unsure why. its a film from 2006 and i would recommend it to anyone wanting a decent horror movie. its not great now that i look back and rewatch it, but for a time killer it definitely works well.
