Also manners would make them a lot more professional, but they lack that as well as skill.

I think one of my many favorite things you do is when your makeup is all done and you give that first look into the camera to show the completed job, the face you make is like every thought and emotion you had during the entire process and it always makes me chuckle a bit. It wasn’t recommended to be used daily, it was more used in drag, theatre and bridal makeup, but there’s a reason modern setting sprays are nothing like hairspray, but yeah - it was a thing in the day. The pore clogging cheap mineral makeup probably didn’t help either.

I'm extremely fair and was told I needed to tan growing up (thank God I never did), and every time they tell you you're too white it makes me so angry. They're just bad "artists" (because they're not actually artists, I've been one for a decade) and don't have more than one foundation shade, but instead of learning and growing, they gaslight you about it. If I were to go to a MUA and they would comment my skin colour like it is a bad one and needs to change to someting else, without asking or talking about if I would like to have more "sun kissed look" or what ever.. I would probably just stand up and leave. 🤷🏻‍♀️ My skin colour is what it is naturally, I was born with it, and makeup should be the one that fits with the skin colour and not the other way around. I have very light skin, some people call it pale or pale as a ghost etc, I don't get tan with sun, I get some freckles, and then bURn lobster red, and then it settles back to pale 👻. So, to me, it would look so odd if someone would just fake tan me with makeup like that since I don't personally have that look. And how mismatched the rest of my body would look compared to my face. I am happy with my own skin, and I don't personally see my pale skin as a wrong shade or something that needs fixing, even though some people have commented about it and subjected this like "have more sun" or "use fake tan". We all can have our own preferences to our own shades, which comes with things like makeup and clothes, but one should not push those towards others so heavily. What you think works for your mind and your eyes doesn't necessarily fit theirs. Skin comes in many different and beautiful shades. Makeup should fit and embrace those different shades, not the other way around.✨️
