Being a overweight male, and knowing that this tends to be the stigmatization that we tend to get as males out of gym regardless of who we are, this is the exact reason why if I'm facing the wall and a woman in tight clothing walks in front of me I will actually close my eyes and literally just focus on my music instead of focusing on my form. I get so tired of feeling like I'm being made out to be creepy or whatever just because I glanced in someone's general direction for half a second because I'm always scanning around me and always looking at myself to see how my form is going, and to see if there's anyone else around me so I either don't hit somebody accidentally, or I also do that for threat analyzation. I won't deny and admit I'm paranoid, but luckily meds help manage that, but with that aside, shit like this doesn't help with that paranoia. Because now in addition to threat analyzation for the sake of someone just losing their shit for absolutely no reason, now I have to worry about women thinking I'm staring at them just because I glanced in their general direction for 3 seconds, or I did that a few times just because they're pretty and I'm trying to figure out why the fuck they keep looking over at me first before anything else, meanwhile all I was doing was just glancing around the gym to see who's there, What machines are available, and what I plan on trying to do next for a workout. Legit, I'm not kidding you, I've actually been stared at a few times by women, and I literally look at them back because I'm trying to figure out why I'm being stared at, and more often than not they're giving me dirty looks or something like that and I'm trying to figure out what the fuck I did wrong, when all I was doing was just focusing on my music, staring at the wall in front of me and just focusing on what I'm doing. I actually remember this exact video not too long ago, as it's only recently that I'm getting to this now, and actual Jim creeps, and then the falsified story of Jim creeps is to the reasons why I'm not the biggest fan of public gyms

Sorry to hear that. However, I think you might be overthinking it. This kind of behavior isn't the norm or standard at all. @thecutiefoxgirl
@thecutiefoxgirl 3 ай бұрын
I have severe paranoia partially due to traumatic experiences.. Though it isn't only me I get worried about. When I was four years old, one of my mom's students who took piano lessons at our house confronted me. Although he was not 18 or older, he was 8+ years older than me, so he knew better. He said "I want to show you something", and I innocently said yes, not knowing any better. He then tried to get me alone in different rooms, and took clothing off to show me "it". I can't remember exactly what he did with me, but all I can hope is that he didn't do any weird sh*t. Sadly, this is one of the earliest memories I remember, as I mostly remember the bad experiences in life. He later tried to show "it" to my older sister as well, but she was six at the time so she denied it (W sister 👑). A few years before that incident, my older sister was with my mom at some sort of public building, and an old man rubbed his hand on her cheek. It was hard to tell what his intentions were, but that must have been creepy as hell, and my mom was not happy about it.. A few years after those two unfortounate events, my older sister was thirteen years old when she went shopping with my mother at a grocery store. My mom looked for what she needed in the aisle she was at and asked her to go find a certain food. As she started to walk alone, she got the impression that she was being followed by an old man. Unsure that her suspicion was correct, she kept walking, in hopes that this man's 'creepy stalking' wasn't intentional. However, the man directly followed her for long enough that it couldn't have been 'accidental', as this continued through the many turns she took. Every time she looked back at him, he 'just so happened' to quickly turn around and look at a food item near him. This went on for minutes, making this guy so suspicious that my older sister picked up the pace and started running back to mom. Thankfully the guy evantually lost sight of her. A few years back, when my little sister was only seven or eight years old, she went camping with her scout group. At one point during the trip, a boy she didn't even know made an effort to get her alone with him in a tent. She only got alone with him because she had no idea that he had any weird intentions. He asked her to kiss him, and even after she politely denied, he wouldn't let her leave. He asked her for a pretend kiss instead, but she didn't want anything to do with him. Thank god, she managed to get out of the situation. I'm not sure what other intentions he may have had, as he was a few years older than her. She evantually told my parents about it, and they were pissed. When my mom and her siblings were young, a sister of hers was forced into a closet by a man. She was locked in there, and the only time the closet was unlocked was when the person decides to 'do things' to her. I'm just so glad she got out of the situation because she is such an amazing person and didn't deserve to go through that. The fact that these people at the gym are not taking the concept of 'creeps' seriously and are blaming random people for no reason just for content makes me sick. It is honestly very offensive to me and others who have been through traumatic experiences with those kinds of things. 😢
@thecutiefoxgirl
@thecutiefoxgirl 3 ай бұрын
Those messed up experiences were a part of me becoming more paranoid, and these people just waiting for "weird things" to happen solely for clout are stupid. However, with or without bad experiences with creeps, I have a mindset that no one I personally know understands, and that I'm not sure I fully understand either. Over just the course of the last two years when I finally got help, I had multiple meetings with a psychiatrist, who introduced me to four differnent medications at different times that I would change the doses of, most of which didn't work for me, and the ones remaining still can't change me. I finally got set up with a therapist that I ended up loving, and to seek greater help, we ended up meeting twice a week, though they are still more like a second mom than a therapist to me. For a while I thought that some of my anxiety, panic attacks, lucid dreams, nightmares, and especially visions, may have been partially casued by my medications. To further investigate this, I thought back a few years before I took medications. Even back then, not only did I see things around me sometimes, but occasionally my vision would be entirely overlapped with crazy sh*t. This included times when I looked around my room with slightly squinted eyes and my vision was tinted green. Slightly transparent unexplainable codes including letters and numbers constantly running down in lines would appear everywhere. Sometimes the same green tint effect would have different things overlapping it such as moving spirals. As I was pretty young, I didn't think much about it being super crazy at the time. Instead, I thought it was the coolest thing ever, and would tell my little sister about the codes and hypnotically moving shapes I saw. For witness reasons, I asked her if she remembered it a few weeks ago, and funny enough, she did! Looking back at those times, I was definetely a bit messed up in the brain. Not to mention that I had the most memorable lucid dream that was partially overlapping my vision was when I was six years old or younger, and around the same time, I would hear weird whispers when I put my ear on my pillow most nights. This just kind of proved that I was always like this, I guess. Over time, things have slowly gotten worse and worse, and dealing with five other mental disorders just made it harder to find medications that also helped with my anxiety. I thought my newest medication helped for the first few weeks, but, can you guess? It didn't.. I just don't really know anymore. I guess it would just be nice to have someone to talk to that might actually understand how I feel, rather than just try to make me feel better, you know?

Hope you are doing better with the meds now, but as messed up as this might be to say, when someone who requires medication for their paranoia because it's that bad is telling people to realize that not everyone in the world is out to get them, that is a whole new level of a realization slap to people who do that kind of shit that you saw on the video

The people in the gym either do things to purposely get attention like slam weights, scream, stunts, or wear extremely tight clothing, or are literally doing nothing at all, staring at their phones. How hard is it to leave your phone in the car, go to the gym with a written plan, execute the plan, and leave within an hour and a half? As a person who works in the tv/film media industry, you have a right to walk up to someone and tell them they do not have permission to film you. If you are in a gym you are in a private space and they, as film makers technically need permission to film in a private establishment. Membership doesn't automatically give you the right to film. Things are different concerning violence, and definitely I would use manners when I tell someone I don't give permission to be filmed. Gyms need to absolutely start putting this into their membership contracts.

As an introverted man with low self esteem and issues of that nature, videos like this scare me. I’m 6’2, when I’m walking alone on the sidewalk and I see a woman walking the same direction as me I will cross the street or make as much distance as I can. I still get stared down like they think I’m gonna do something. Making women “feel safe” is an active job for me, I fear that I will get falsely accused for nothing. All it takes is one woman to get the wrong idea or lie and it’s all over for me. In a way it has made me really scared to meet new women. Edit: typing this out and seeing the responses have been therapeutic thank all of you for sharing your experiences and to those giving advice. Being able to reflect on it is already helping me overcome this issue. I know I’m in my head, but y’all helping me get out of it. I appreciate you bros

I usually don't right them off as creepy as someone who questions hpw he has a fiancé with his negative game ability I usually don't think their creeps. But the real creeps i've experienced like the time i did 10×225 RDL and someone slapped my Gludious maximus so out of instinct i dropped the bar and gave the *meanest* left hook a 6'8 280lbs dude could give. It was on that day i had to tare off my soon wife from this chick. As a very small 17 year old girl myself, it totally makes sense to feel a little intimidated by bigger grown men who you don't know. It is not their fault that they LOOK intimidating to you though. They did nothing to deserve being accused of harassment for simply being in the same room as you. If you are uncomfortable, you leave. Go somewhere else. It was weird how these girls didn't just get up and leave. These men are not "feral", "weirdos", and they don't deserve to get their "pp ripped out" for simply existing. If you are uncomfortable going to a place that is usually full of strong men, don't go. Buy your own workout equipment to use at home.

Agree completely. Or you know what? Instead of stewing in that weird social anxiety and trying to read super deep into the kinesics of guys you haven’t even shared a sentence with, try to clear the air and say something to relieve that stress. People these days are so entitled to think they don’t need to start social engagement. You’re the one dealing with all of this anxiety around people. Deal with it yourself and don’t stew in hate and think you’re at odds with someone constantly. Those people don’t CARE about you enough to even formulate an opinion of you. As many things these days, this video points out how social media has boosted narcissism in people. This lady is off her rocker. And maybe it would have happened regardless if she didn’t have a little audience for her to constantly reaffirm her misguided warped view of the world, but it definitely didn’t make it any better.

In every sport I've been practicing, boxing, judo, free diving everyone has been very welcoming and helpful to new people who wants to try it out. I've only been to a gym a couple of times and the staff has been like that. The people who goes to gyms are more reserved but very polite and helpful if I talked to someone. I think the difference is that you get to know everyone in your sports club quite fast but at the gym they don't have that club thing. When you don't know the people you workout with I guess it becomes natural to throw glances at the big or beautiful men and women rather than talk to them as colleagues.
