On the fourth day we noticed her and knew what she was up to, so we decided to make her special batch of pico with no jalapeños so she wouldn’t complain that even our mildest salsa was still to spicy. Sure enough she ate over half her bowl and came back to the counter to ask for a refund. I explained to her that we made her a batch with such little spice and that we couldn’t possibly make is any less spicy without giving her unmarinated chicken. She kept doing the same thing in the video and asking me “what am I supposed to do?” I was young and dumb and I told her “ma’am if you do not like spicy food please don’t go to a food place named after a pepper” she left called cooperate and our district manager had a good laugh and told us to never speak to a guest like that again.

Oh my gosh, that is wild. I worked customer service over the summers while in school to earn some extra money, and I had some of the most irritating encounters. I remember one time I was behind a register taking this lady’s order at a concession stand. I was pretty new, so I was also a little nervous. This lady comes up and orders a pretzel and a coke. She then proceeds to pause for about 5 seconds just looking at me, so I assume the order is over. I ask, “Will that be all for today?” And she very aggressively says, “NO!” She then orders something else and afterwards pauses for 10 seconds, staring directly at me again. I figured if she was still ordering she would be looking at the menu, but NOOOOO. So I politely ask if she is done with her order again, and she gives me a disappointed look, pauses, and then says, “NO, I will tell you when I am finished.” She continues ordering and pauses once again, so I patiently wait. After a bit, she takes out her wallet and puts it on the table. We just awkwardly stand there for a bit before I ask her if she is ready to pay, to which she responds, “There ya go, buddy.” It took everything in me to not throw food at her 😂

It takes a lot to not. I work at a bank and people have this kind of entitlement on a regular basis. Had people ask for several thousand dollars at a bank and then yell at me when I tell them we don’t have that available for them. Also had some people yell at me before I can even ask to see if we can accommodate their request and then the answer becomes an immediate no because its not my fault they didn’t call to see if we have 15,000 to give to them. There have even been people angry wanting close their account out because they had no ID for their transaction and its hilarious because we need that ID to close it out. I have only made an exception for that once and it was because they were very well known. Everyone should get a little customer service experience

You learn it after a while in retail. You give them a look of complete neutrality, you give them nothing but the facts. It doesn't matter what they do or destroy until they try to injure someone(namely you). Then its fair game, and incredibly satisfying. The cops are useless(except as a threat), if you want to bleed to death in a retail chain, thats on you.
@nickrogers36242 жыл бұрын
@@LostShipMate as an additional note. When a customer gets a little too riled up, calling in the manager or security if you have it to escort them is useful. Additional specific places the threat of police is much higher such as a bank for example. I did actually make claims of “do we need to call the police” once but nothing came of it thankfully... people get crazy and it can be hard to tell what is anger and what is “I’m about to shoot you” its 99.9% just anger but you can never be too careful.

I heard years ago that hotels hate the third party booking and prefer if you book straight with them because it is cheaper for the customer (usually) and more direct to the hotel. I merely use third party sites to find hotels in the area, and contact them directly if I can. I hate when people speak down to customer service workers, as if their job isn't worth doing. I think I have only complained twice in my life, and those were extreme circumstances where the person failed to do their job through fault of their own. But, this young woman literally did nothing wrong. And I willing to beat that idiot complains about other people being entitled.
@Hjordtheskeleton2 жыл бұрын
as a hotel overnight front desk agent, the problem is with people booking the rooms not the third parties. CLC guests are the worst. And this woman engaged far too long and was honestly being far to accommodating. She needed to just outright state in no uncertain terms "This is the reservation you made, we have no other availability tonight, you're only options are take the room as is, or cancel your reservation and leave." Her trying to be accommodating and treating the costumer like an adult is ironically what was escalating the situation

When I was young (I think 9ish) my mom, my brother and I went on vacation. As a single mother my mom didn't have a lot of money. We were tired after a long time in the car and wanted to camp somewhere. The camping was closed though. So we had to go somewhere else, maybe sleep in the car. We went to an hotel which was a bit too expensive, but hearing our story and seeing she was a single mom they gave us a room at a lower price. It was a kingsize bed only but more than large enough to sleep in with 3 people. I remember we even got breakfast for free, even though we payed a lot less than the room was supposed to be. I can't help but think nice of hotel staff since then. They generally want to help people. People like this Ahole that kept trying to scam aren't worth their generosity.

Almost all these methods rely on trying to bully the front desk staff using aggression and guilt to get what they want. This then can annoy the other guests which they could take out on the associate as well. She handled it perfectly though. Guys like this are unfortunately probably weekly occurrence for her.
