What I like about Fantasy Springs is that it feels like Disney returning to its roots. Tangled is like a classic Fantasyland dark ride that only focuses on one part of the story. Peter Pan lets guests experience iconic moments from the movie without caring about story canon. Frozen is a fairytale ride with conflict (though the Hans stuff could have been done better). Tinkerbell is a unique smaller-scale attraction thats not just another type of spinner. This would feel right at home at Disneyland (and while I am mostly against clones, its fine when both parks involved have a lot of high quality exclusives like Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea).
@ZeroSonata6 ай бұрын
The thing about Fantasy Springs is that it cost 320billion Yen (~2billion USD) to build. Disney will never spend that much money to make something this high quality for the parks they control. It's just not how they operate anymore :/ Also, Fantasy Springs likely has pretty long exclusivity agreements for these rides given how much they paid for it.

It took decades for The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast to get rides, but I hope some of the other Disney Renaissance films start getting some love now that we're talking expansions. I am not convinced any of Fantasy Springs will leave Japan. Looking at all the exclusive rides that originated from Disney Sea, none of them have made it to the states (Journey to the Center of the Earth, Aquatopia, etc.) Fantasy Springs was built for two reasons: more family friendly rides and adding more Disney IP to Disney Sea. The parks in the US do not suffer from these issues as all the parks include an abundant of IPs and family friendly attractions. Plus, there are already Frozen and Peter Pan rides in WDW. I think the idea and concepts that Fantasy Springs reintroduced to the parks will eventually find their way to the states, but I do not think we will have any of these same attractions in any other Disney park.
@jimmyjamsburner69444 ай бұрын
I slightly disagree with this: Journey to the Center of Earth is just Test Track/Cars. Indiana Jones is just Dinosaur. Raging Spirits is just a roller coaster, Nemo Sea Rider is a giant Star Tours. Aquatopia is Luigi’s Roadsters, 20,000 Leagues is Peter Pan’s flight. None of the SEA rides have an IP strong enough to make the jump except maybe Nemo (which also has excellent capacity). Fantasy Springs is like a turn key new land that would basically work in any park (except Animal Kingdom, and hopefully Epcot but I don’t trust Iger)

So, I was kind of wondering what other attraction could possibly be a replacement for the Peter Pan area of Fantasy Springs so possibility maybe they could replace Peter Pan idea with Beauty and the Beast in the Disneyland forward side because basically that is a pretty good trackless ride and we know that they are good with that themeing based on what I seen in videos of new fantasyland.

Its never coming to the states in this high of quality..... Disney tokyo has a higher standard than the disney company

Doesn't Oriental Land Company hold the exclusives on at least some of these new attractions for 5 years or something?

thought: fantasy springs as a retheme of Tom Sawyer island/specifically the Peter Pan land? I feel like Tom Sawyer Island in both parks is itching for a new ip

I think Chris Provost is right in there with you for your appreciation of Tron. 😉😂 I’ve not ridden it yet, but when I get to FL next time, I’ll think of you both. BTW, Tokyo Disney Sea Fantasyland looks AMAZING. Beyond anything I imagined and I had high hopes to begin with. The rock work, the hotel, the level of detail. All stellar.

Fantasy Springs next to the Disney Hotel at Disneyland or next to Pixar Hotel

Disneyland's expansion seems the most obvious global expansion site for Fantasy Springs. For Disney World scattering the IP makes more sense, putting the individual rides and attractions in the various different parts of the parks as appropriate. Same would be true of Paris. As for Hong Kong the size of the park may restrict what can be used and where. Shanghai - your guess is as good, if not somewhat better than mine.

I'm going to Tokyo DisneySea on the day it opens. ON THE DAY IT OPENS. I kinda might not even go in the new area. I haven't been to Tokyo DisneySea before and the fact that that's the most reasonable day for us to visit is a complete coincidence. The stuff I want to see there isn't particularly in Fantasy Springs. Fantasy Springs is doing some kind of controlled virtual queue entry. It's gonna be insane.

In Magic Kingdom, Disney could expand Fantasyland further behind the current footprint (with access paths through Belle’s Village and the back of Dumbo Circus). This would also allow a connection with Villains Land. I would replace Small World with Tangled. I’d build a new Small World behind Dumbo Circus with a proper Small World facade. I’d add a Beauty and the Beast attraction show building behind the Be Our Guest Restaurant with Belle’s Cottage converted to the queue and attraction entrance.

The USA has it's fantasy springs, its called Galaxy's Edge. Sorry to burst your bubble, you will have to wait 5 years for the exclusivity breaks, on top of that, Disney won 't shell out all the money,

Florida is closer to home so I have o say that. I do like the idea if a multiple princess area. would also enjoy the villains park or a park for Marry Poppins and the other live action films or a toon town with a money bin or a Gargoyles, gravity falls star vs, amphibia, owl house , ghost and molly, Kim possible, phineas and ferb area or a kingdom hearts area.

I went to Tokyo a few months ago, and Fantasy Springs was awesome. I couldnt get on the Peter Pan ride though, but the Tangled and Frozen rides were wonderful.

I would love to see at least the Rapunzel part in MK, she deserves more than just a bathroom, though I admit I have no idea how they would do it.

I think the point you're missing is that Hong Kong and Shanghai are still owned and operated by Disney. Tokyo is far less... Their exclusivity clauses don't have a set amount of years attached. They're run by the Oriental Land Company and pay Disney royalties to use their IP. I don't think we'll ever get anything more than halfassed knockoffs of these attractions, much like how our Winnie the Pooh rides are similar but far less than Tokyo's Winnie the Pooh attraction.

My guess is they’ll update Frozen in Norway, then either add Peter Pan to UK or update MK’s ride (with the new set permit, likely not), and put Rapunzel into Germany. Cheapest/lowest effort strategy. Do we want that? Of course not. Will they do it anyway? Yes.

Zootopia should replace Hollywood land instead of Avatar since Zootopia’s skyline is technically an animal version of Los Angeles’ skyline

Considering that no original creation for the Oriental Land Company has NEVER EVER been recreated elsewhere the answer is if you wanna see it, book a flight for Japan.

Is there a new Disney animated feature film in the pipeline that, if its a big hit, would be a good compliment for the land if/when they build an Anaheim Fantasy Springs? Are there any other non-animation Disney films planned that you think would make great parks attractions?

Fantasy Springs is basically what everyone assumed the New Fantasyland expansion, in Magic Kingdom, was going to be. Only “The Little Mermaid” was until correctly during that project. “Beauty and the Beast”, “Tangled”, and to an extent “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” were done dirty. New Fantasyland looks aesthetically pleasing, but it lacks any substance. Those “enhanced” meet-and-greets, and overpriced restaurants are extremely dated.

Wait they roller skate at the end of Frozen? 🤨😂 I don’t think we’ll get the equivalent of FS in the States but I really hope we at LEAST get a Tangled ride.

A lot of rides have 5 year exclusivity... Maybe California can build Beauty and Beast castle ride.. but will they allow a 2nd castle??

I find it interesting Fantasy Springs focuses on IP that’s all over 10 years old. What’s going to happen in 10 more when there aren’t any captivating movies since sequels are all they do now…?.

If only Disney management was as willing to greenlight projects as OLC. Give the Imagineers money to build things instead of propping up a failing film studio and streaming app. So jealous of both Tōkyō parks!
