I was excited to hear that Ryobi was coming with a new 18v Ryobi Patio Cleaner. The new Patio Cleaner with the wire brush was awesome, but this one... not so much.

The black brush is for wooden decking, you need the orange brush for slabs.

I've seen this product on another video by someone who was NOT a ryobi fan and they loved it! Their one had three different brushes that you could switch out. I think your problem is you were using the wrong brush.

I love mine I used the orange brush attachment My complaint is that it kicks all the dirt onto you . And it works well and all the gross stuff it is cleaning is off the wooden deck and on me!

So glad I saw your review. Years ago someone painted my basement floor green. I saw this brush and thought....this is perfect to scrub that paint off!! I am already a Ryobi owner so it seemed a no brainer. I will hold off buying this until they improve the attachment. Thanks.

You can get deferent brushes for that tool they don't have a metal brush YET but there is a wood brush available in some places and more may be coming to North America
@senseoftouch1
@senseoftouch1 3 жыл бұрын
In Europe there are multiple brushes available now, including a metal brush. I bet that does the job great. The universal and wood brush was a godsend when it came to removing dirt from a deck that pressure washing was unable to remove.

@@senseoftouch1 Im interested in this tool exactly for my IPE wooden deck which must be scrubbed with a liquid acid-based cleaning agent before re-oiling. Can the regular brush be used or must you get the wood brush and why ? Thanks for your answer .. looking forward to it

@senseoftouch1 3 жыл бұрын
@@alanwonder504 I used the generic brush that comes with the tool to scrub a pressure treated deck with some water and kärcher deck cleaner. It works fine, but you have to be a bit careful not to damage the wood since the brush is quite stiff.

It would be good for cleaning/ spray painting roofs around trees haha. Sounds particular, but one you paint prime a tin or concrete tile roof sometimes the wi d blows and puts tree debris on the tacking off paint, it sticks a little, and this would be subtle enough to get it off and paint the two semi/ gloss coats with a smooth finish as sometimes your looking at the roof sheen and it ruins the look if there's debris in a nice mew paint job

The only power tool I own by Ryobi is the drain gun, cleaner/snake $70... (Dewalt drain gun $280)... I got the “tool only” option because I have a Dewalt platform... so I got a Dewalt to Ryobi battery adapter... I felt no need to buy a Ryobi battery & charger just for one tool that would get used (maybe) once a year... I might not use it often, but it’s sure nice to have when you need it.

Got the electric Ryobi power washer think it's 1600 PSI and for $35 Home Depot had the attachment to clean the concrete what that Circle cleaner which does a great job and if I really have to clean something I'll just break out the Big Daddy DeWalt gas power washer just got to make sure you don't hold it too close because that would take some paint off your car and could destroy a lot of other things. Hope you had a great Father's Day talk to you later brother😎🇺🇸👍

We have tan tile with tan grout on the floor for a lot of my house. The grout in the kitchen gets nasty. We have had it professionally cleaned and I have spent many hours using a very stiff brush. When I saw this I thought it might work. Many reviews said it works better with cleaners so I used hot soapy water and scrubbed away. I'm not going to say it wasn't powerful enough, but I feel it wasn't heavy enough. I had to put a lot of downward pressure on the machine to get it to work. End of the day it did a good job, but with a ton of effort on my part. It was like doing an ab workout the entire time. I was trying to figure out how to strap 20 weights on to it. For the cost, it was returned.

I think that thing might work in the inside of pools or maybe really dirty bath tubs??? But the rest of the stuff you were trying to do with it, would be done way quicker and easier with a pressure washer. Including cleaning the pavers! Plus, if you clean the pavers like that, then replace the sand in the joints with polymeric paver sand, you won’t have to worry about weeds and moss again!!!

Agreed ryobi is really really good for what it costs and they have the largest variety of tools for sure. I personally use ridgid, but mostly for the lifetime warranty that some of their tools have. I do think that they are a little better than ryobi, but not enough so to be worth the price difference, UNLESS you use the hell out of them and break them all the time like I do lol. Plus once ridgid no longer sells your model, youll get upgraded to the next model for free once yours breaks. It probably won't be the newest model but it will still be newer than whatever you broke. Kinda hard to beat that haha.

If I was out in the field building homes not sure if it would be good for much except break, but in the prefab wall shop it's wicked. I was at the saw for a few hours today cutting plates with it blasting me on my back in plus 30c and I honestly want one for my backyard when I'm grilling now. Even if I drop it at the end of my table when I start building my walls and only get to pass threw it every minute or so. Still worth it.

Both of these tools are toys compared to what they are trying mimic. First the brush. Take a look at the Echo PAS attachment or Shindaiwa powerbroom set ups. That's what the real tool looks like. There are two versions, the brush with bristles and one that's a rubber paddle to move stones and debris out of grass. Both work well. Second, the wire wheel. There's a wire wheel that replaces the edger blade on a stick edger. That's bigger, more powerful, and far far cheaper if you already own an edger. Just swap it in for the blade. Third, the idea of a big wire brush, Shindaiwa used to have one, maybe still does. It was kit for their powerbroom. checking their website they only seem to have the nylon option now. Like the nylon version of a wire wheel.

It looks to me like it's too light to scrub with but , the bristles are too short to be an effective broom. Make it heavier to use as a scrub brush. Maybe it would work for washing horses, really. Cleaning your dirty work boots. Stranded on a dessert island you could use it to write SOS messages in the sand, having high hopes that The Google Earth satellite will photograph your location and someone who cares will know that You, might be the person that wrote the message (with that Ryobi brush thingy) in the sand. Wouldn't that be neat.

Yeah I’m super disappointed on this one, too, but for some reason my wife refuses to get rid of the damm thing. She’s always using it when I’m not home yet don’t see anything cleaned when I return. It’s still a mystery to me 🤔 Not Nass like 🤷🏻‍♂️

Probably Ryobi is just pumping out too many new tools, without thinking them through. Maybe , as an accessory they could add a wire brush to make it useful, or more useful whatever the case may be.

Ryobi, will have to come out with something even better to compensate for the poor performance, I think they will its upsetting to find out like this , that's why regardless of what tool what platform , I read the reviews , they're just not haters who post their reviews , that being said for any and all platforms , regardless of the company
