But for how long because of last weekend finding out Russ passed away.

I hope next week has a tribute to Russ, for his dedication and vision. He brought true DIY content to the people, faithfully, before and better than anyone else thus far.

Their KZbin channel does not showcase the current season of the show, so there wouldn't be any tribute to Russ in these episodes. They have posted a special tribute to Russ though as a standalone video. They also made one for the New Yankee Workshop channel.

No grumbling from Mark about all those brick cuts that are needed with that herringbone pattern. But i agree its the best pattern. :-)

I love how they're always like "our budget is tight" in the early videos but then install Ipe and massive patios with complicated brick patterns later.

The old timer's such as Richard and Tommy can't go on forever - they will eventually retire like Roger and Norm. When they do, I think it is Kevin that will keep the show together. What do you think?

I have never seen a paver pattern where the bricks are laid on the flat side. In my (European) country we lay paver bricks on the side, so the paving layer is thicker and paver bricks won’t break so easily. You need a lot more bricks though, but a car or truck can drive over the paving. We use it in streets instead of asphalt or concrete. Then it is easy to dig a trench for underground cables and pipes. Just take away the paver bricks, dig, lay the cable, put the dirt back in and pave the bricks. With asphalt this is too expensive. And we have all cables and pipes underground, also the electric and telephone lines. We don’t have the ugly overhead wires in the streets like in other countries. Also less damage after a storm, and we have a lot of those, although not as severe as in the US. The ceramic bricks are nowadays replaced by concrete bricks (cheaper and more durable) and they are laid flat, not on the side, but they are thicker (8cm) than ceramic bricks (5cm) and the pattern is called elbow pattern over here.

When did this old house become a soap opera? This is only a half hour per episode. Can we focus on building the house? There are no shortages of soap operas on daytime tv. I for one did not cut the cord because I like day time tv

Gotta love they don't tell you what things cost labor and materials etc. That heat pump, etc, is BIG money. Rich peoples homes.

Do you have a central air conditioner?
@withak305 ай бұрын
Well if you want a show about renovating an entire house bottom to top then you are going to be looking at rich people.
@martinb75545 ай бұрын
@@oldfredbear Exactly. Heat pumps are regular air conditioners that can go in reverse. The high prices are artificial.

@@martinb7554 I also love the "heat pumps don't work" crowd as they type on their computer from their air conditioned house.

'This O'l Wallet' using Ipe on the porch. I can see those dollar signs from across town. Great stuff, but you'd better be a king or queen to be able to afford it. I think one of those boards in the size they're using is about $1000 US.
