Sorry for the delay in videos this past month. I got sick for a bit and the issues with the previous video took a lot out of me. But I'm back looking at these super fun old Marvel cartoons! And if you can, I'd appreciate any support over on Patreon and/or buying some of my merch over at NerdSyncStore.com. Thanks! 💜

Actually the name Donald Blake isn't boring. In most cases Stan used an alliterative name for his characters (Peter Parker, Reed Richards, Stephen Strange..) to help remember the name (he once slipped with Bob Banner). Donald Blake is taken either from Donder en Bliksem - Dutch for thunder and lightning - or the German version Donner und Blitz. So quite an appropriate name for Thor's secret identity..

19:24 "Prince Namor the First" Yeah I don't think that's how royal titles work. You usually don't get called "the First" until there is a second, nor do you get these kinds of titles if you are just a prince. But then again the same people who made this also just had Loki create a Thor duplicate to hold Thor's hammer and then immediately said "Loki kinda forgot about the Thor duplicate"

It really sucks he quit working on this series of videos. I know he had a mental crisis about working on the iron man video, but I’d still like to see what his take on the rest of the shows like Hulk and Namor. He can take a break and come back in the future and continue this series, but I doubt it. I just wish he wouldn’t have called it quits after a bit of mental grief, personal and professional spaces can be separate and one can return to a project after a mental crisis. I’m mainly just disappointed that I’ll never be able to see what could have been. Recently found out about this show and this and the few clips on KZbin are the only things I’m able to find so I’m just desperate to ingest this kind of old classic marvel content.

It's funny to hear you guys talk about these shows. I remember them very well. The best part of being a kid in the 70's was reading these comic books and switching between channels to watch Marvel and DC cartoons. There were only 2 channels that showed cartoons. 2 out of 9 total. No cable only UHF.

Some of the same art used for the animated cartoons was on the film strips you could buy to play on a battery operated projector. At the time these were around it was pretty cool. To be a kid and to play your favorite cartoons at home. This was way before VCRs, so we were easily impressed.

I watched these shows when they aired. My favorite quirk is Odin's constant change of ornate armor from frame to frame. Decades later me and my buddies would imitate this version of Loki's voice on occasion. AND we had a very inside personal live meme where we would roll some hair across our foreheads (like in that overused closeup) and say "Odin give me strength". lol

" I really hope someone out there is watching this at double speed, I bet you can't tell what I'm saying" I feel attacked right now, though I did watch this at double speed and understood everything you said. I like watching stuff at double speed. It lets me watch like double the stuff in a shorter amount of time and I've trained myself to do it in college kinda for this reason, but also so I could read along with things at double speed.
