Dat I had this problem too because I'm doing live streams for this game especially for this collection I had to lower the difficulty down to zero just so when my audience watches if anybody who comes and watches after I'm done streaming I don't want to bore them to death with the same losing all the time that I can't beat the same opponent in all this stuff. My only big issue is, why is Comossus‘ command grab not an actual grab? Like, the man is slow af, has the moveset of a grappler, yet his spinning throw can actually be blocked…

Omega Red is by far my favourite character in this, followed by Silver Samurai and Psylocke. You can beat people on the ground with coil too, you can do like 2 bashes and then an air toss. His mid air coil can glitch out on rare occasions, I don't know if they've fixed it though.

Omega Red has been my main since 1994 when I started playing this in arcades. I never got the infinities down because I'd get coil instead of super jump jab. I do a variation instead of down+fierce, stand+roundhouse, strong coil, drain+slam then I'll do some follow-up. Another thing you can do is down+forward super jump roundhouse coil and grab while they're grounded.

lol, i remember doing horizontal coil grab from far away, draining life for split second, just before it stops draining cancel into coil slams(he can slam with coil 2 times enemy to ground) but instead second slam toss enemy with upward coil directly up in air, do air jump to reach hem up there, air throw grab hem and slam hem into ground then omega destroyer hem while hes laying to wrap it up hehe :)

Regarding the extremely long OTG state: you "roll" in this game to avoid OTGs by mashing forward or back + PPP. It does not require meter (only throw techs require meter).

Yeah i grew up out here in NY on that damn game. i remember when it FIRST dropped and people were going nuts about it from the animation and how it looked. I loved Using Cyclops. My two mains was were Cyclops and Wolverine. Out in Manhattan back in the 90s when it dropped there were businessmen in suits coming through to play it and they were good lol It was so funny to us kids to see. Don't watch them. Battousai is the only player who's really good out of that list and she's long retired. The meta of the game has advanced tremendously. If you want top level matches, watch Sentinel Unit (Naraka), Pizza Butt (RedSodaPop), EightMadRush (jdestroyer97), or godmademen (chance) just to name a few

I like CotA for the aesthetic but I have not played serious since Batts/stafos/DCyc etc have left, haven't been active for years or care to go back. I could care less if you think I'm good or not ( pretty sure I played you and beat you easily and mikehawk years back when I logged in once ) I know for fact I used play at a level that doesn't involve the abuse of the easiest infinites in the game and make sent look viable, it makes the game stale and lifeless to play like this. You don't have to spend meter to get up btw y'all, it's just throws. You get two chances to throw break, and the second one is to get off the throw fast, so it just looks like the same situation. Regular knockdown get up is forward or back plus a button, unlike the rest of the games on the collection

I could barely beat the first guy on default difficulty in CotA. And I'm ranked in the top 40 on MvC2 (on Switch) using Team Shoto 80+% of the time. The skills do not translate. The damage in CotA makes very little sense. Attacks either take 1 pixel of health or 60+% of your health bar. And then when you hit the ground it takes another 20%.

So I'll change my language. Is there anyone in a Marvel or Marvel vs Capcom game other than Omega Red with INORGANIC tentacles? Examples in my head. Omega Red, Dr. Octopus, Whiplash, Civil War Spider-Man suit. Venom has organic tentacles. Additionally characters like Dhalsim or Seth or Super Skrull or Nemesis are just not the same as Omega Red. Maybe Bionic Commando, but that's a grappling hook.

Been playing this since the 90's and newbies will be shock on how bad wolverine is in this game. Back in my day newbies always use iceman, cyclops or silver samurai. I prefer Sentinel and unlocking Akuma hahaha. Good thing the arcade games in my area is owned by my uncles, we have around 5 branches and many arcade cabinets so I played a ton of arcade games for free.

I got a question: was COTA after Darkstalkers and Alpha 1? It feels like a Marvel game with mechanics from both games. It has that similar CPS arcade feel as those games. And it feels like OTG is a main part of strategy.

Darkstalkers came out on July of 1994, CotA came out at the tail end of that year, and Alpha 1 came out on the Summer of 1995.
