We visited Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial in South Dakota today. I think the tears came from seeing something you've always wanted to see. It was always a symbol for Priscilla of traveling with her family which has been a goal for a long time. #travelmaass #rvlife #travel

Hope you went to Custer State park, loads of wildlife. Also Needles highway is so awesome. Just a tip, we got a decorative door grate to protect our screen door on the bottom to help keep dogs and people pushing through the door. We found ours at camping world. No biggy if you don't want that. Love your channel.

We went to Crazy Horse as well but we didn’t make a big deal of it because I couldn’t handle pretending like I liked it. When we went there were white people selling Native American goods. I don’t know that we saw a single person in there that wasn’t white. It seemed odd to me so I Googled the monument and it’s history. Basically a white family has gotten wealthy off of a monument that hasn’t had any measurable work done in 24 years. The icing on the cake was that they were raffling off an Indian motorcycle in the lobby. I’m sure there’s a lot to learn there but it just came across as a money pit.

I loved this video. It brought me back to my childhood. I lived in the Black Hills for my elementary school years. I haven't been back since I was 15. It really makes me want to go back and visit and share it with my husband and 11 month old daughter. I went to Mt. Rushmore so many times as a kid that it lost a bit of its magic. Seeing Priscilla's reaction to seeing it made me think how amazing it really is. Crazy Horse looks so different from when I was a kid. I lived 10 minutes from there and went to school with the grandkids of the man who started that project. I loved going there and seeing the progress they've made since I last saw it is crazy.

Pricilla, I get it. It is on my list of things to see. To me, it’s not just patriotic, but it represents the best of our country’s founding fathers. I love that you all went to Crazy Horse too. I can’t wait to see it finished. It’s an impressive monument. So far all locks right with the family. You all are having an amazing time together. It’ll be fun to see you all do this regularly, maybe spend more time in an area. I grew up hiking, backpacking, camping, canoeing and skiing in those mountains on the west coast. I hope you all manage to stay in a few National Parks. Yosemite will blow your mind. Don’t stay in the valley, go up. The further you go up, the more you’ll see the monuments up close. Asa and Isaiah will love getting up close to Half Dome, El Capitan and Glacier Point. Don’t forget Bridalveil Fall and Tuollumne Meadows and make a reservation to eat at the Ahwahnee Yosemite Dining Room. Enjoy Wyoming, you all will understand why it’s called God’s Country.

I totally understand Priscilla. When we arrived Mt Rushmore was in the fog. I told my family that we weren't leaving until I saw the sunshine on the Presidents. We walked the trails up to the mountain. It was incredible. Happy you got to check it off your bucket list.

I have an Aunt an Uncle that live in SD and everytime we visit Mt. Rushmore is a for sure place to visit while were there. Also I would love to go see Bear Mountain again. Ive been there once as a kid and once as an adult.

I love stuff like this too Priscilla!! You guys should definitely travel to Colorado!! OMG it’s such a beautiful, amazing place, you’ll never want to leave I promise!! You can visit Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Buffalo Bill’s grave, Rocky Mountain National Park, Great Sand Dunes National Park & Preserve, Royal Gorge Bridge (you walk across this huge bridge across the valley and across the Arkansas River. They have all the state flags on the bridge) Colorado National Monument, you can walk up 200 some steps to the top of the mountain and see goats standing right at the edge of the mountain, they also had a Christmas town where you could actually go feed real reindeer. So many possibilities in Colorado. This is my dream place to move!!
