Inside Out, both the first and second film, is really good at making metaphors with how the mind works; and it's one of my favorite aspects of the franchise. But the sequel takes it further by including one scene that can have multiple meanings depending on how you see, and each interpretation is just as valid as others.

My brother and I saw Inside Out 2 last week and we loved it. I personally loved it because I'm an adult and cartoons are my special interest. I love Disney animated movies and tv shows like Inside Out, Turning Red, The Owl House, Amphibia and The Ghost & Molly McGee because of their themes of found family, friendship and acceptance of being different from others. This scene in Inside Out 2 was amazing I do hope that there will be major changes in the animation industry so that creators will get the creative freedom they deserve and for me personally, I do hope someday that we will see The Owl House and The Ghost & Molly McGee again.

That is what I hate about Chris Stuckmann refusing to criticize Madame Web; he has a point in addressing the troubles with studio executives not giving their directors and writers enough creative freedom, but he also gives the film creators too much sympathy to realize that what makes Madame Web so bad is through some faults of their own, not just Sony butchering a potentially good storyline.

Into the Spider-Verse's animation is so amazing, that Sony CAN NOT expect Beyond the Spider-Verse to be finished just one measly year after Across the Spider-Verse. That is why it has been delayed by another four years, and I am sure it is worth the wait. In the meantime, fans of Peni Parker's voice actress can enjoy her new Disney Channel series, Kiff! Tomorrow is Halfway There Day, and Kiff Chatterley will be there to remind us that *🎵squirrels just want to have fun!🎵* July 1, 2024, 5:34pm

In the first movie, Happiness tasks Fear with theorizing the worst scenarios for Riley's first day of school. Why does Anxiety exist if Fear was already responsible for worrying Riley?
@leroypreston2973
@leroypreston2973 5 күн бұрын
Anxiety said she plans for stuff later on. While fear catastrophically the first day of school. Anxiety is the worries about one's social life in the future after that day. All the ways in which things go wrong. Not just what goes wrong now, but all the bad consequences that will arise in the future and to fret over these things constantly. In short the difference between an immediate threat over a future threat
@flyingfish7787
@flyingfish7787 5 күн бұрын
Fear acts toward solid immediate threat (like alligators in front of you, which is already happening ) Anxiety acts towards future threats that may happen ( which may not even happen) The lower IQ one animal gets, the harder for it to have anxiety, because it requires imagination to picture threats that didn’t happen yet.

It makes sense Pixar would do this. During an extreme deadline crunch for Toy Story 2, a man who worked at Pixar had to drop off his infant son at daycare before going to work. A few hours after getting to work, his wife (who also worked at Pixar) asked him if he dropped their son off. It turned out that he was so burnt out that he had left their son in the car in the middle of summer. The child survived, but Pixar took measures afterwards to prevent against burnout and maintain the health of their employees.

From where I'm standing, personal and deeply meaningful storytelling was partially what got Disney out of their slump pre-renaissance and got them to fire on all cylinders with classics like... well, there were a lot of classical films that they then burned out through mostly poorly made TV show compilations that they advertised as sequel movies to those exact same classics. Movies like Mulan, The Little Mermaid, and a whole load of other movies that were both made by Disney animators, or were made and produced under Disney, mostly came out of films like Lupin the 3rd: The Castle of Cagliostro (The Great Mouse Detective) and a whole slew of American films and animated works were inspired by either older material or from the creator's own personal lives. And seeing how much Disney slights everyone for having original, fun ideas and has been deliberately sabotaging creativity for easy profits, even among things they now consider classics within their own catalog, shows just how little faith Disney has in entertainment as a whole. Disney does not want anything that the company was mostly founded on, they only want the illusion of their "Disney Magic" just so they can handwave anything anyone says against them, and whenever someone doesn't fall for their branding and aggressive propaganda tactics? They immediately crush them with Legal Action and a huge amount of cash at their own fingertips. Disney enjoys being on top of the more than the things that brought them to where they are now, and eventually, when everyone turns on them because of just how scummy their behavior has been and after everyone finds out that Disney is one of the more historically insidiously abusive partners that would rather settle for mediocrity than fire on all cylinders 7 times out of 10, Disney will have nothing but A.I. to carry them to victory, and even then, after everyone has left Disney or the only people left are those who are willing and enabled to take risks for Disney, the leavers will create things better than the A.I. and the keepers will not work with A.I. nor the demands of the higher-ups to be the people who make the corporate slop to keep up with needing movies to sell. After Disney is done from making almost everyone around them done with their nonsense, they'll realise how important it is to respect those who have ideas they want to share.

hopefully, Disney will learn from their mistakes and maybe continue some of their old shows like the Owl House Gravity Falls, minus Amphibia because it already ended on a good note, but spin off or a a conic or two wouldn't hurt (though if they continue The Ghost & Molly McGee, they'll have to retcon the season 2 finale as a dream or something), but it's very unlikely Disney will do that unless they have a new CEO

Great idea! I’m guessing the animator at 7:16 , the first one to imagine something new and positive for Riley, looks similar to the actual person who boarded this scene! Especially considering the features this being has that almost no one else does-the hat and sunglasses, the mustache and goatee, and the relaxed way they lean back in their chair with one leg crossed over the other. The only other animator with unique features like this is shown at 3:33 - 3:39 . Perhaps their design is based on another storyboarder?

What I love about this scene is that Anger and Joy work together in imagination land to help the mind workers find courage to fight anxiety. Because what happens is they start a rebellion, and the fact that rebellion is something driven by the dual emotions of anger and joy is brilliant! You don't usually think of those two emotions working together or harmonizing at all, but in real life, when they do, they spark rebellion for a better, more idealistic future and I love how Pixar pointed this out

Ironically, Anxiety feeding Riley's worries throughout the night would increase her chances of failure due to Riley's brain being incapable of focusing clearly.

I went to this with my friends. The friend sitting next to me, while this scene played, asked me if this scene was a cry for help.

I never thought Pixar would do this! I actually watched this specific scene and thought it was actually a really neat scene. I never realized what it could mean outside of the message the movie was trying to portray, but I actually like the point of view you described about it.

that's how you make a great reference, it's cool and has its own charm even if the audience don't know the source material and those ones who are aware of its origin can enjoy it even more

Or, hear me out, the idea of rebellion in a large consumer media product sells. No need for 4D mind chess, it’s a scene about anxiety and mass media, with maybe a hint towards animation in specific. Way shorter than eight minutes

I said "hell yeah" out loud in the theaters when I realized this from that scene. The light boxes on the desks were a dead giveaway.

It's also funny that the drafts instantly become final rendered images, like, that's how easy and fast corpos think animations are done.

i also love the scene because in the first movie imagination world was happiness world and now anxiety over took it and made it hers

As a hobbyist animator, I wondered immediately if this was whoever was in charge of the scene's veiled way of airing their own frustrations with the work environment at Pixar/Disney.

I hope that Disney can see how much money they get if they finally allow their employees creative freedom. I was so relieved seeing the sequel because it was the first movie in a while that felt so well executed in all the areas. The marketing was good, the characters were developed greatly, and the ending was something satisfying while being accurate. The writing had character and soul, and I really hope they can keep it up and redeem themselves as a company while treating employees better.

The part where Riley “Wants” Joy is such a Pivotal Moment. Why? Because it showcases what emotions should actually do. People should NOT be controlled by their Emotions, rather, People have the power to chose how they feel. You Chose how to react to things, and you chose how to feel in situations.
