Hey Alex, big fan here… I have a request… I love your carro kann videos and because of you I developed a pretty strong understanding of the opening. Anyways I’ve just been defeated by the accelerated panov attack seeing it for the first time against a 1600 (I’m 1450). Can you do a video focusing on the panov? Specifically asking you to go over 1. E4 C6 2. C4 D5. 🙏 anyways quick thank you for everything you’ve done thus far in helping me grow stronger.

Thank you! I would consider myself fairly advanced, but very hit and miss in consistency. These games really drove home the fact that my timing tends to be off slightly and that is why i cant break 2100. Youre emphasis on tempo and pawn breaks has helped as well. I tend to focus more on tactics.

Your dark-square bishop is still white.
@AlexBanzea2 ай бұрын
I actually used to play it like that too in the videos, but after doing more testing...I realised that this is the best way to combat black delaying Nf6 move. For instance if you play 3.Bf4 e6 4.f3 Bd6 (or other ideas delaying Nf6 could be annoying). It's true that quite often it will transpose to normal pawn storm, but by using this central storm strategy there will be no room for black to deviate.

Ben Finegold (and I) say openings don't matter if you're hanging your pieces. What good is it to get a nice position out of the opening only to lose your pieces to basic tactics? Solution is lots of puzzles and go over each game with the engine.
