@@leacotacoit's about time to money output. To be a doctor, you have to go through years and years of unpaid schooling and get into tons of debt. With contracting and trade work, you can go to a 2 year trades school, make a company and become a 6-7 figure company with employees within 10 years.
@kaboomsihal116411 күн бұрын
@leacotaco dude my friend works in construction (welding) and he makes almost twice my salary. Sure as a consultant (attending for the US) you can make decent money but in my country at least as a resident you really don't make much. Especially if you consider having 7day 76hr weeks on your rota. People really overestimate the pay and working conditions of juniors in medicine lmao. Its a pretty shit job for a decent half decade. After studying for another decade. Money is not a good reason to go into medicine. At least not in my country.
@TheRedEyedSloth11 күн бұрын
@@leacotacoyeah no, contractors especially those with their own business can easily make more than your standard doctor, that being said being a doctor is very important however those who own their own practices tend to make more, just like contractors. So while one could easily blanket the argument with well so and so makes this much, they are both very valuable and profitable trades just dependent on where, the specific market and how.

These shows always require the person who sought out a doctors help in the first place to not take their advice and they always want to desperately leave as soon as possible, If I go to the doctor I fall in line a German in the 40s.
@Lcsam200010 күн бұрын
Sadly that actually happens a lot in the Emergency room.
@soullessangel20710 күн бұрын
that actually happens. the last one I witnessed in my clinical rotation when a guy in his sixties who smoked for years, had bronchopulmonary disease already, a pulmonary infection and pleurisy etc. he also had chronic diseases like hypertension and diabetes. I don't even remember it all but I'm pretty sure he was in a bad condition and needed treatment asap. he refused treatment and wanted to go home, he legally can so he was discharged. he was in pulmonary but the next time he has complications he will end up in the ER again. it does happen and nothing you can do about it if the patient is conscious and sane enough to refuse treatment.
@Thundarr1006 күн бұрын
@@soullessangel207 I don't think "sane enough to refuse treatment" is the correct choice of wording. If someone tells you that you are sick and will die without treatment, and you elect to not get any treatment, then you're anything but "sane". "Lucid" would probably be a better choice of words. Anyway, hadn't this character ever heard of Andre The Giant? Doesn't she know that he was virtually crippled by the age of 40, and then died of heart failure a few years later? And that's because they didn't have the surgical procedure to safely remove the tumor that was causing his gigantism when he was younger. By the time they had developed it, it was too little, too late. The damage was done. He just lived out the rest of his life in as much comfort as he could manage in the condition he was in. So if the doctor is telling you that the tumor that's causing you to grow so big is also going to kill you, get rid of the tumor. It's not like your body is going to shrink without it.

I am a nursing student, and i could be wrong, but the tumor causing the excess amount of growth hormone will not cause gigantism, unless this happens during developmental stages like during childhood or puberty. Because the epiphyseal plate in their bones have already matured. And the woman explained she has been 6'7" since 17 so I assume she is not undergoing puberty anymore, so what will likely happen is growth in the muscles and thicker bones.
