This reminds me of a creepy coworker I used to have. All too familiar with the threatening to kill himself, the reaching out through sympathy only to turn and become a straight up predator that was way too touchy, constantly giving gifts for hugs, hitting on 20-somethings as a 40-something, inappropriate language, and sending dick picks out of nowhere only for him to say "OMG I DIDN'T MEAN TO SEND THAT LOL". He eventually got reported so many times he quit. I hate people that use mental illness as an excuse to be selfish creepy assholes.

This reminds me a lot of the situation that happened in the Genshin community a week or two ago with a voice actor named Elliot Gindi. He used his fame as a voice actor, as well as his connection to the other VAs, to get close to fans (several of whom claim to be underage). He’d later begin to change the subject of their conversations towards sex, and whenever he was denied or was told that the person he was talking to was a minor, he would claim that he was suicidal and a horrible person, only to immediately repeat this with another person. I’d look into the situation further if you’re interested, but a lot has gone down.

As someone who is going through something similar its best not to name the person in case the victims decide to file a report. If people name drop rumors and fake stories can deter the investigation making it harder to sort out the evidence and timeline or it would give him time to delete evidence. I agree....I need therapy for sure for the crap I put myself through...I was dating this guy for 4 months and things started to get really toxic between us. It was already a rocky relationship and we were both using one another. The night I ordered an Uber and left I was just over it and already drinking. He harassed me all night and when I got to my destination (safety) I passed out. The next morning I checked my phone and the messages were insane. One of the last ones was a picture of a noose.....the noose he killed himself with that night. I found out that morning.....I feel so guilty to this day.

I feel like some people kind of get lost between the lines of helping someone that's suicidal, and being manipulated. If someone is actually suicidal and in danger, there is no amount of help you can give them, except for referring them to a psychologist. You aren't a counselor, you're not a professional, and having intimacy or whatever they demand isn't going to help them, and I feel like people get guilted into that all the time because they think they can help. And instead of helping someone, the victim instead gets manipulated and hurts themselves. It's just, so bad. I hate to see it. This is a really weird point you’re making. I do agree that people will try to do too much for their friend who is suicidal, and it can have negative impacts on your own mental health. But that doesn’t mean you leave them by yourselves, thats fucking evil. Not everyone can immediately find real professional help. I myself have tried and its so hard to find a good therapist and psychiatrist. You also seem to think all suicidal people bait with suicide, which just isn’t true. You can have thoughts of suicide and even plan it without others knowing. My point is that this is a very rudimentary way of handling this. I think this dudes thought process, was to: 1. Establish the "Cool guy" principle. He works at Twitch, he's friends with big streamers, he's even doing the dirty with poki! What a cool dude! 2. Once he established himself as someone a young person could admire in some form, he then plays on their emotions. He's suicidal, but he's telling this to me? He hangs out with Pokimane, and the like, but only trusts ME enough to talk about this stuff? It makes the chosen viewer feel important, accepted, and among the cool kids in a way. 3. He hits them with a double entendre. On one hand, he makes the viewer feel special with the perceived attention of the higher echelon, while also adding the potential guilt of leaving a suicidal individual to their own devices. 4. He reveals all his cards, and plays the relationship hand. A cool, suicidal dude, that makes me feel important wants to be in a relationship with me? I hit the jackpot! 5. The demands. He asks them for a nude, the girls don't want to, he then replies with the suicide card, and even if they might not think it's true, there's always that 1% out of 99 that he is telling the truth, leaving the girls conflicted, and without him they lose the sense of importance, of being needed. So sadly, after all that, they fall prey to his demands. I hope this man can be brought to justice in some shape or form.

This situation (on a smaller 2009 scale) happened to me when I was in college. It was an acquaintance I knew from Model UN in high school. And he went around his school (we went to different colleges) saying that we were engaged, that we were having sex, and that I was going on a trip with him to Australia.
