This Pool Robot Will Change Your Pool Forever!
In this video I’ll be Covering the Setup, Cleaning, Strongpoints, Drawbacks, and also performing a full Demonstration of the Betta 2 Solar Powered Automatic Robotic Pool Skimmer for you!

I’ve had one for two days and it’s amazing! It gets all the big and little pollen particles that float on the top from over night. We have an L shaped pool with a sun deck and ledge loungers and it works that area too! I no longer need to skim with a net. I leave it run until we get in the pool and put it back when we are out.

Thank you! The basket has a super fine mesh filter on it and picks up really fine particles so this is great for all the pool floaters! I love that I no longer have to spent time netting out everything, or convincing the kids to go do the work. Picks up bugs, pedals, pet fur, dust, pollen, you name it. Thanks for the comment. 🏊‍♂

When there is a big storm, it seems like there are always a lot of leaves and floaters left over in the pool. This robot is great at finding and removing all of them, and easy to use! Thanks for the comment! 🤖

Evidently, it doesn't automatically clean on a schedule. You have to manually turn it on and off. I'm looking for something that will automatically, or periodically clean without my interaction. So when I go on holiday for a week, I can put the skimmer in the pool and let it clean every day, every other day, whatever. If you put this in the pool, turn it on, and go away for a few days, will it clean until it runs out of juice after the sun goes down, and then start again after the sun comes up and recharges its batteries?

You are correct, this skimmer doesn't have a programmable schedule but will keep cleaning and cleaning even through the entire night. I've forgotten and have left it in the pool and the thing has a great battery. I found it still working away in the dark at 4:30 am doing it's thing, so running off stored up battery power all night long. Then once the sun comes up, it just keeps skimming. You turn it on, and just leave it in 7x24 without touching it, besides emptying the basket occasionally. With the longer summer days, ours runs 100% throughout the night, so it's running 24 hours a day.

I’ve read that these only last about a year and break soon after the warranty expires. What has been your experience?

I bought this one in May 2023 so let's see how long it lasts. I'll update the comments if anything happens to it. Note I don't keep it in the pool 24/7 but use it 3 or 4 times a week (as needed) and love it so far. I really hope it lasts several years because it's a huge help with the pool. Are their settings? If you leave it in the pool will it just clean as long as the sun is out?

Not a lot of settings to this robot skimmer, in fact it will run through the night I've found if it has enough charge from the solar panel. You can keep it from coming into an area if it's really shallow by adjusting some feet that come down. Great skimmer, check it out. Thanks for the comment!

It works great in the summertime. but when fall comes and the leaves start falling off the trees and the sun gets blocked by the change of the season, it sucks. It doesn't work in shade! I have to take it out to charge it. which kind of defeats the whole purpose. They should have a charge only switch, so it's not running while you're trying to charge !!!

That's a great idea for the charge only switch, and with the shorter fall and winter season ours only works from about noon till 4 pm now, but we don't have trees blocking out the sun. Thanks for the comment.

Is it just me or does debris fall out when it backs up?

So I've noticed that sometimes mine will have some leaves or grass clippings behind it when I pull it out of the water, and also if I lift it by the front only when taking it out of the water, sometimes the contents will spill back into the pool, so I grab both handles now. With that being said, I'm going to watch it closer when it backs up, I haven't seen anything come out but I'll let you know, thanks for the comment!

It seemed to just push the leaves around my pool. I also found that the remote is hard to use.

@@janesmith7705 Sorry to hear that. I haven't had this issue, but I've left it unattended for a few hours at a time and when I go to check on it, all the floating debris is gone. I'll have to watch it closer to see if it's missing things or dumping anything when it backs up sometimes, and comes back around and picks it up later.

This things works great as long as it’s moving forward. All the debris comes out when it stops, turns, or backs up! So annoying!!

With mine, it's been great, unless I pick it up by the front, then everything can dump out the rear of the unit, so I've learned to pick it up almost level, or with both handles. But as long as I empty the thing daily, I haven't had an issue. Sorry yours is loosing debris. Try their website bettabot.com/pages/contact and see if they will do anything about it, or maybe replace the unit because it shouldn't be doing that. Mine is working well. Better buy the extended warranty! Motor design is junk. I've gone through two set of motors in 15 months, and NO it's not because of any unusually harsh water chemistry. My pool is professionally maintained.

Sorry to hear that, we have been using this one for around 5 months and haven't had any issues as of yet. It's the salt water version and has been a massive time saver with the debris and leaves. Did the Betta company send you replacements? Most reviews (besides my own) on this skimmer are overall very good.
