Update: Sadly, had to return the Scuba S1 because it kept getting stuck on my pool steps. I have a kidney-shaped gunite pool and the steps are curved at the ends. The bot gets stuck on the curved edge every time it is in a mode with wall-cleaning. Spent time with Aiper support (who were quick to respond) and said the bot doesn't work for my pool and told me to return it. I don't think battery powered bots are ready prime time yet, in general, when compared to the power of corded models, so I'm going with a Dolphin Premier. I have a Dolphin DX3 I inherited with the house. It works well, but there are two major problems with it: the cord (when leaving it in the pool on a weekly schedule) gets kinked up after a while and alters the flow of the pump-to-skimmers, not to mention surface debris gets caught on it. But the biggest PITA: it gets caught on the main drain and makes scheduling useless (I've tried aftermarket drain covers with no luck). So, based on your reviews I was considering a Beatbot Aquasense Pro, but as I don't really need the wifi and you mention its not the best machine at any one thing I decided to go with the combo in S1 and Surfer 1 in this video at half the price. I do believe the Beatbots will get better and become serious contenders as they get updated, but seems to me they're not ready for prime time yet. Love the unbiased reviews, man! I've watched a ton of videos, and you have a great selection with lots of info. Kudos!! So, I used your links to give you whatever credit you can get. Well Deserved!

Exact same issue with Scuba S1. Disappointing but Aiper accepted responsibility and return with no issues.

I was thinking about getting the beatbot aqua sense pro, but now I'm leaning towards a combo like this. Great video.

Thank you! Definitely the less expensive option compared to the Aquasense Pro. Buying both types is still half the cost... Even less if you only need one type of those cleaners.

I got the Beatbot Aquasense(not the Pro) and have been very disappointed as it stops cleaning after 10-20 minutes telling me the filter is clogged. The app isn’t great. Costs the same as these two combined. Do you think the S1 would be better? Maybe the aquasense isn’t ready for the MainStage yet. My pool isn’t super dirty. But want to get a cordless pool cleaner that works well. In general how do you feel about the Aiper brand and reliability?
@imdefinitelydavid7 ай бұрын
I'm sorry to hear about your Aquasense! Sounds like it has some kinks to work out. The Scuba S1 works great in my pool. It's a great plug n play cleaner. Cordless with a weekly timer. No wifi or app here though. I do want to mention that the new Pro version of the S1 should be released soon which adds app control and enhanced waterline cleaning. It's expected to be at the 1k price tag. Might be worth waiting for that one if you want the app controls. And, it's still less than the Aquasense...
@Greg-R7 ай бұрын
@@imdefinitelydavid yeah I saw the pro version but seeing that I can get the Scuba S1 and the S1 Surfer for about the same or less than the Pro and Aquasense that might be the best choice. Fingers crossed that works well. Feel like the WiFi and app stuff hasn’t added much in terms of useful features. Pool robots are still more niche than say a Robot vacuum for the house. As less people have pools. Wish there was a bit more invasion in the pool cleaner market like robot vacuums for the home. Thanks again for the great video. Watched a handful after researching a new pool cleaner. Getting tired of all the sponsored previews/reviews. They are ruining the buying process and integrity of many KZbinrs. Hard to tell if reviews are real or not nowadays. Thanks for being very detailed and honest.

I have the Seagull Pro which I love and just ordered the Surfer S1 with your affiliate link. Thanks for the reviews and hopefully this combo will keep my pool clean with minimal work on my end. I may even stop using my Polaris pressure side cleaner that hooks up to the pool as its annoying lol
@imdefinitelydavid5 ай бұрын
A cordless cleaner plus skimmer combo really makes maintaining the pool much easier. I'm sure you'll love it! On a side note, I also have a Polaris pressure side cleaner and believe it or not, I keep it around for specific purposes even with dozens of robotic cleaners. It's great for instances when you have to leave your pool for over a week at a time. I am sometimes away from the pool for 2+ weeks for work and my good old Polaris 360 is my go to in those cases. No robotic cleaner can be left in the pool without resetting it for a week at a time. As long as the debris isn't overwhelming, sometimes I can go for 2 or 3 weeks before needing to touch the Polaris. So long story short, keep your pressure side cleaner in case lol.

Hello, we have started watching your videos because we think they're awesome when it comes to knowledge of these robotic pool cleaners. We do not wish to have one that has a battery or Wi-Fi. But we won't one that will climb well and has a super fine filter. We're just having a hard time because there's so much information. Even watching your videos we are in a whirlwind spin trying to figure out what we should buy. We really didn't want to pay $800. But some of the cheaper ones do not pull well they don't cover the bottom of the pool well. We have a 20 by 40 pool that came with the house we bought. So any advice would be awesome. Thanks

Hello, unfortunately, finding an ultra-fine filter with a corded cleaner below the 800 dollar price point is very hard to do. There are not many options. They're usually at the 800+ dollar range. I think the only option I can see is the Wybot Grampus 1300 on amz. It's the only corded cleaner with UFF and a physical control panel with remote. I haven't actually used the Grampus 1300 but it's the only cleaner I can find in that price range.

Can you run the skimmer while your pool filter is running and sucking water into your pool's skimmer baskets?
@imdefinitelydavid5 ай бұрын
Yes, but only if your pump is a variable speed and you lower your RPMs. I use lower speeds during the day and higher in the evening. If you have a one speed pump(high RPMs), you will have to adjust your schedule to run in the evening instead of sunlight hours so that the skimmer can freely move and charge.

It's crazy right? What could be better than one skimmer in the pool? Two in the pool lol! They work surprisingly well together at the same time.

Hey David, thank you for your videos! I've postponed replacing my traditional pool cleaner and getting a robotic cleaner because I believed that all the "good" ones were corded and like my current cleaner, wouldn't reach my tanning ledge. It seems like cordless options have improved in quality and would be able to clean my tanning ledge, so I'm now thinking about making the purchase. How would you compare this to the Beatbot Aquasense that you just reviewed? At about half the price, I'm leaning toward the Aiper Scuba S1.
@imdefinitelydavid7 ай бұрын
The Scuba S1 is the better deal. It's also able to reach the tanning ledge well. And having a weekly timer for a cordless cleaner is nice. The benefit of the Aquasense is that it does have wifi and supports the OTA updates. But for a general plug and play cleaner the Scuba S1 is the better deal. It's also worth mentioning that the S1 Pro model of the Scuba should be released soon which includes wifi and a few extra features if you can hold out a bit. It would be at the 1k price point but still lower than the normal Aquasense.

David out of all the robots which one is the best, my Zima pro charging port broke and between the seller and Amazon I feel like I am getting the run around. I might just get something different thanks
@imdefinitelydavid6 ай бұрын
That's hard to answer because a robot that does well in one pool might not in another. It's better to answer based off what you need. Cordless, with a weekly timer? Wifi and app control? Price and budget?

I'm glad the videos helped! To be honest, I do NOT like Aiper on a personal level lol. I've had issues with them in the past with my videos and usage rights to my videos. But I have to admit, their cleaners work well for the price!

When did you order by chance? I definitely want the Surfer S1 as I already have the Scuba and love it. I understand it's still in preordering status.

You can pick one up on Amz and not their main site. If that's available for you. For some reason their main site still says preorder

I have a deep (10ft) and large (35ft length) pool....it usually has a pressure side cleaner but it broke. I am thinking of going robotic...any recommendations? Im at a loss here :(
@imdefinitelydavid7 ай бұрын
The benefit of a pressure side cleaner is that you pretty much leave it in the pool all the time and only take it out to empty debris or if you go swimming. Even though companies don't recommend leaving it in the pool 24/7. It'll be a bit of a change for you if you go robotic. Some cleaners have weekly timers and some do not. Meaning you'd have to put the cleaner in the pool every time you want to use it. Or set it to clean for a week at a time. Either way, robotic cleaners in general provide a better clean overall. Are you considering corded or cordless? Do you have a budget in mind?

Is the S1 the latest and greats from Aiper?
@imdefinitelydavid7 ай бұрын
Currently available, for a robotic cleaner, yes. But the Pro version of it should be released soon. Which is a higher model with enhanced waterline cleaning, app control, and ultra-fine filter.
@Hammyankee7 ай бұрын
@@imdefinitelydavid thanks. Also I notice that the aiper solar skimmer is to available. How did you get yours?
@imdefinitelydavid7 ай бұрын
I got mine super early on Amz. If you're in the US, it should be up now through AMZ. I have two links in description, and one of them should work at least. Aiper always changes their listings, so I try and update my links every week for what's available in the US. I don't know why their official site still says pre-order only when it's on sale on Amz.

Thanks man. What would you recommend using this or the seagul pro?
@imdefinitelydavid7 ай бұрын
I have both and can say that the Scuba S1 is better than the Seagull Pro. It moves better around my pool and the track design is better imo than the 4 wheel system.
